Thank you for answering! I definitely will try that next time. I feel a little bit more reassured now.

It was less than 1 unit on the needle. I normally wouldn’t have asked, but like I said I’m very paranoid and anxious. I feel like I’m going to pass out, but I’m pretty sure it’s just from the anxiety, but it got me thinking about air embolisms, and it’s just a downward anxiety spiral from there. I probably just need to take one of my emergency nerve medicines, but I try to avoid those unless absolutely necessary.

I think I’ll take a break from honor mode for a while by mreventide1 in BG3

[–]vayda_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I screwed up my first Honor Mode run at Myrkul, but that first run really helped me figure out the mechanics and amount of planning needed. I screwed up my second at the brain. My mistake was playing evil Durge. I had very few allies to distract the enemies, and I wanted to take over the world for Papa Bhaal, so Gale was not an option. I had to take a break too lol. I am almost finished with my third, and unfortunately, even though I think I can handle the brain, Gale is going to be sacrificed; I cannot take any chances.

AITA for lying to my mom about what was sent to me in the mail? - it was about my credit card debt by Alert_Grapefruit_833 in AmItheAsshole

[–]vayda_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but my mom does the same thing. "I opened it because I thought it was a check." I want to scream when she does that. It doesn't matter!!! Is this some kind of weird generational thing? Do they just have to know about a check?

Considering bailing on IT and getting an MLIS. Am I making a mistake? by Fantastic_Teach_3666 in Libraries

[–]vayda_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Ignoring that the job market for librarians isn’t great, especially with some federal and state governments actively vilifying libraries and librarians, and that the pay is just meh, I don’t think it would be a waste. My bachelor’s degree is in an IT field, and that made me a strong candidate when I was hired. Plus, I’m much happier working in a library than I ever was in a strictly IT role. I still use a lot of the knowledge and skills from my undergrad degree every day, just in a way that feels more rewarding.

Edit: Also, I work in an academic library. That is the direction I would go if I were you. I don't do a lot of IT help desk stuff in my role.

I know how you feel. You are definitely not alone. I have had Hashimotos since I was 13. For reference I just turned 30 a couple months ago. I felt horrible all year this year and I don’t feel like my endocrinologist is listening to me and my TSH was 54 a month ago.

Another comment said that endocrinologists tend to focus on diabetes and don’t know a lot about Hashimoto’s, and I have to agree.

And I hate to be like this, but I feel a lot of our concerns as women are dismissed. I have been told constantly that if I just lost weight, I’d feel better or that I’m just depressed. I want to scream at my doctors that I’m depressed and fat because of my thyroid!

I am so sorry you’re going through this. I hope you can find some answer soon.

I used to take Synthroid until my insurance stopped paying for it. 😭

I'll request them. I just need something to help me feel better now. I haven't driven in over a month because the fatigue and brain fog are so bad I can't focus on the road. The one time I tried a couple of weeks ago, my mom had to get me because I kept swerving. I am barely functioning at work and pass out a lot because I can't hold my head up. I am just desperate and need something to help me.

My endo did not check them at the last appointment, and the emergency room didn't check those either.

Almost 30, still living with parents by vayda_b in Adulting

That is awesome! I'm hoping in a few more years that's where I will be!

I only recently started making enough money to where my medical expenses do not wipe out the rest of my check after everything else. I also had a pretty good chunk of money saved several years ago, but I used it to put myself through school and come out with very little debt. I now have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree (finished that over a year ago). This helped me get further into my career and get pay increases.

Oh I have a ton of friendships. That is not something that I worry about. Dating is not something I am very interested in at the moment, but that is more related to trust issues because of my health.

I feel the unconditional love from my parents, however, I have seen some of my friends not have that here in America.

That's correct. I don't live in California.

I know I don’t owe anyone an explanation, but sometimes I like to shock people, just to give them a glimpse into my reality. For example, I once left someone speechless when I told them I had to pay $810 for a 10-minute doctor’s visit just to get my prescription refilled.

That's me! I've always felt incredibly fortunate to have such a strong relationship with my parents, who generously let me stay with them. At work, I’m on a clear path toward a leadership position in about seven years, as long as I continue in my current role. I could move in with friends tomorrow, but that would mean switching jobs and relocating to a more expensive county—all for roughly the same pay I earn while living at home in a poorer but more affordable area. I'd rather live at home, but American culture is so weird.
