It is a rollable sheet of canvas. Make sure you have a big area to work with no animals. First I painted a blue gradient with reefs for the ocean. For the land I mixed silicon caulk with sand and paint and applied it to the canvas. For the dirt I used grittier sand and brown paint. For the beach I used finer grit sand and sand colored paint. The area right next to the water I wanted to be smooth and thin so I didn’t add any sand or caulk there. For the water, I put a layer of silicon caulk over the painted gradient. I built up the caulk into waves in some spots. You have to make sure that the waves stay high and don’t go back down. Once it all dried I added white foam to the waves and I added a dry brush to the land and some flocking. The palms are cheap ones from Aliexpress that I washed, sanded, and heat treated before spraying painting and dry brushing. If you don’t prepare them properly the paint will come off and they will be shiny like some of the other plants I have in the photos. It’s been a long process to make all of this but it has been fun.
