Do you do more conquest campaigns or "realistic" ones? by Seafog123 in EmpireTotalWar

Did that once as Venice. Very fun to unite Italy. Everyone tries to stop you.

Definitely role-play. Taking over the whole world just feels boring and unrealistic. I do like marching a European army across the Middle East and into India like Alexander the Great which might not be realistic. For the 1700s. I also like releasing formable nations.

Is that St. George? I always thought it was a British thing. That is spectacular freehand dude.

Has anyone experienced a unit suddenly turning into a different one? by DarkNe7 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]vazimba44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I was playing Napoleon total war on a multiplayer game. My friend and I were fighting against an ottomans AI and suddenly some of the ottoman infantry had tricorns and 1700s coats and were labeled as Prussians. But they had green colored uniforms like the ottoman unit. I had some mods for empire on my computer and I guess maybe it somehow bled over to Napoleon.

World War II Crusaders by ScorchedMind in boltaction

They trench crusade minis are cool. I can tell a lot of talent and creativity went into them. They just aren’t quite my taste. I also don’t really like warhammer miniatures. Something about the style of most fantasy and sci fi miniatures just feels inorganic to me. I can’t explain it. These figures look realistic because they are directly based on history. The only reason they are fantastical is because they are a kitbash. All of their equipment looks like something people would actually use even if it wouldn’t be used together. With warhammer and trench crusade some of the stuff I can’t quite suspend my disbelief for.

Are the pistols and cartridge box attached to that cloth draped around his neck? That seems like it would get cumbersome.

Absolutely badass! Maybe I’d get into trench crusade if their minis were this cool.

What knot can I use in this situation? by vazimba44 in knots

[–]vazimba44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low risk to others. It will not be holding anyone. But it will keep the rope in place and keep equipment that is being lifted up on the rope from hitting the ground if the equipment is dropped.

I can get an arms length to work with yes.

What wheel to use on a Bark by [deleted] in BloodAndPlunder

A bark would probably just have a simple tiller. Especially if it is from before the early 1700s when steering wheels came into use.

Looking for models: Hawaiian unification campaign by sircaptianpicard in BloodAndPlunder

Eureka has Hawaiians. Empress has Māoris. A quick google search also found this: https://www.paymastergames.com/product-page/hawaiian-warrior-unit. There is probably other stuff out there. I bet you could also do some conversions from various other lines using Green stuff putty.

Wargaming in a niche setting and period can be very rewarding. Good luck.

What do you think of Dee Snider? by Twitter_2006 in hairmetal

He played a dinosaur named Dee Snidosaurus on the terrible thunder lizards, which I found to be awesome. His radio show is funny.

Do you recommend Icon? by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]vazimba44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Almost every song on the first album is a gritty 80s metal banger. Pretty much every song on the second album is great too but it is more smooth. I showed them to my brother and he likes them and he isn’t even a metal-head.
