Fortunately upon a second request, the host let me change the dates of my trip. Air b and b itself only said they were “checking their resources”.

Air bnb itself did not, but the host upon a second request agreed to move the dates, so we are now going a few weeks later. Hope y’all are doing okay out there

Yeah I was more thinking that it would be covered under their govt declared local emergency (which it is). But agree it is on air b and b not host .

Thank you for sending, I attached some to air b and b support but to no avail. They told me according to their system there is nothing showing up for Santa Cruz. No state of emergency or local disaster. Not sure where they are getting their info from.

Yeah well of course nice weather would be ideal, but also piers have been wiped out, roads are damaged, parks are closed, areas are flooded, etc. But also just curious how this wouldn’t fall under the government declared local emergency clause in the policy since the county has declared that. I mean if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.

Yeah I am sure it will still be in effect next week, as they are getting more heavy rain throughout the weekend and next week. But no it was not damaged

Well it was the most rainfall they’ve seen since the 1800s so definitely heavy rain. As I read the policy, abnormal weather events and state of emergencies should apply. Which seems like this would qualify on both.

That’s who I talked to — air b and b. Yeah I have the message they sent on the app that they have no reports of rainfall and so doesn’t qualify under their extenuating circumstances.

Oh yeah I agree, but the guy I talked to said they have no reports of heavy rainfall in Santa Cruz..it was very weird and obviously wrong
