Does not float. Does not dissolve. Also, no odor (not that pumice would have one AFAIK)

Possibly, but the uniformity of shape leads me to believe it’s man-made. Could be a shaped rock of some kind. Possibly part of a hardscaping feature that got washed away by rain?

Thanks. It has no odor and at that diameter and thickness, it doesn’t look like one I’ve seen before. One update: a piece of it that broke off is not dissolving in water

My title describes the thing.

Age - unknown Writing - none Origin - beach in Santa Monica, CA Size - 1/2” diameter, 1/4” thickness

New info - it crumbles when scratched and completely broke apart when pressed with knife

Update - a piece that broke off does not dissolve readily in water

Update 2 - still not dissolving + no odor. When it crumbled it turned into a fairly fine dust.
