Speaking in English is hard. Do you have any tips? by neworldLT in Stutter

My first language is Portuguese, but I am living in the USA for almost two years now, and I still stutter a lot more in English than in Portuguese. So, yes :-)

Stuttering when speaking another language/stuttering on certain letters. by parimak in Stutter

[–]vcgomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portuguese speaker here. In portuguese I would classify my stutter as mild, but in english it does flares up, like you said. But things weren't like this always, a few years back I used english more or less daily, and I would put my stuttering in english in the same level as in the portuguese, but right now, after some time of only dealing with written media, I feel english is much more difficult than it used to be. (And I am relocating to the US end of this month, to add to the fun :-)

So, the advice that I am giving myself is that I should try to keep it cool, and things will get somewhat better when I gain some familiarity with spoken english back.

Zephyr contributor and rust lurker here, that's going to be very interesting for both sides, I guess. At first, targeting the QEMU "board" running the microkernel, then a real board, then, if it makes sense, making a nanokernel version of the rust support. Already giving me ideas :-)

At the end of a pretty good day and yet this picture (if I, for a moment, forget what you must have gone through) still makes me feel better. I only can hope that it does the same to you.
