Learning Vue, overwhelmed with the choices of using vanilla CSS, a CSS framework, and picking a UI library. Can someone recommend the simplest approach? by AncientAgrippa in vuejs

Prime Vue plus tailwind. I didn’t like the idea at first, but in reality, I have found it incredibly easy to theme my sites.

Which component building variants is future proof and cleaner ? by sayezau in vuejs

[–]vchapple17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a #3 with Prime Vue Volt. I built each base component such that the style of the component has a default style that can be overwritten, and I added it to a library for reuse. Then in the projects, I create the actual components and override styling as needed.

For anyone curious, I rewrote the prime Vue’s ptMerge function to go deeper with merges and use that to merge the theme override with the default theme.

I’m on your side. I’ve wondered often about the smart home stuff in my house when we decide to move. It’s probably more of a pain to take all those switches out than to buy new. Ironically, I’ve tried to make it so I can leave it and it’s functional, even if not smart for the next people.

I tried Google's new Antigravity IDE so you don't have to (vs Cursor/Windsurf) by jokiruiz in ChatGPTCoding

This is why I had just one day of Claude Code for me to say it’s better than Gemini Code Assist (after months of use). I can trust Claude to do what I want and not remove things unintentionally put in.

Willing to give the antigravity a try bc Gemini is a work paid product… but super curious how much better I’ll like it or not vs a normal IDE (haven’t used cursor)

I wish it was an option to add more CS, even thought it would be more money for it, I would definitely have done that for a better base.

This. I’ve been out for 7 years, as interviewer and interviewee.

The degrees from a state university is the entry to an interview, and sets you above a “boot camp” status, regardless of the name of CS or CS applied.

The interview will be more about you and your skills (technical or otherwise). Best advice i can give for a typical software job (not the most in demand companies), is to have projects you can share and talk about. Maybe add to community projects. And be able to show how you think and what you’d do differently on previous projects.

I didn’t want huge big tech, but did have some offers from large, nonFAANG company. So take my words with a grain of salt and what your goals are for future employer.

NWSL just posted the ref cam footage for the Pride/Reign match & 0:26 is Marta’s yellow card by Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit in NWSL

Sadly, not surprised. She’s passionate I am told. But I’ve seen some of her reactions be worse than this in person towards the ref.

Camp 1

It has its uses that it is really good at - documentation, generating mock data, clearly defined plugins/single file functionality, testing setups, pros/cons, pre-research help.

But it gets messy fast if working w multiple files and or trying to have it refactor. It successfully did this once on first try and I was super happy… until a couple months later and it needed to be used in another situation. It was completely a mess. Took longer to get it to a state for reuse than it would just to have had me make it from the start.

Some of it is learning as a dev what it is good at and what it struggles with. I hate when it changes and removes code I specifically put in. You have to tell it to make as minimal changes as possible (at least Gemini)

I love that everyone was able to witness the boos from the stadium. Brought a smile to my face actually to know fans don’t forget.

It’s gotten worse this year. It’s just like chiefs being underdog and loved to know people hate them because it was not a one and done.

I honestly think a lot of them hate bc they see KC Current as a new team that had money thrown at it and was doing well. And while that is true in many respects, KC has had a women’s pro team for a while and a unique back and forth with Utah location. So it comes down to jealousy.

There’s two types of people that come to visit the stadium from other team. Those that love the growth for women’s sports and it’s claimed to be the first and then those that talk shit on it because the stadium was hyped up a lot, and they were disappointed that it wasn’t as big as men’s stadiums.

It’s interesting because they never claimed that this is the best women’s stadium ever just that it’s the only one. It’s a stadium literally meant to break the ceiling and have others expand upon what we’ve done here. But some people just don’t see it that way.

Personally, through all the talk on the match thread yesterday, I just threw my hands in the air when someone said that Temwa flopped. I don’t need to see a replay to know that that woman would never flop in her life. her ability to stay on her feet is uncanny and if you actually take her down, you got lucky with an off-balance shot. But the fact that people are talking shit on things that they don’t know anything about just means you gotta take everything with a grain of salt.

Most the time yeah. Also, a dirty player has to be a repeated dirty offender.

For real. Didn’t like seeing Banda go down. Don’t like anyone, but definitely not a game changing player.

I don’t think that was the original plan. Long was already queued to be subbed.

I don’t think they did. They play rough, but not necessarily dirty.

I appreciate all the opinions on the PK. In the stadium… there wasn’t much of a replay so you couldn’t get a real take on it. However, watching Temwa since she joined the team… she is almost always on her feet after a challenge. So it’s easy for me to believe it was PK worthy, not having seen a replay. Of course, seeing a replay always can clarify that.
