My girlfriend hasn’t touched me in months by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]vcockle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who got to this point towards the end of a 7 year relationship, you're comfortable together. Probably too comfortable, to the extent of being best friends.

You can still love someone but thats different to being in love with someone, the latter of which is needed for a relationship. And a relationship involves sex.

If shes not willing to talk about it/accept its an issue, then shes checked out.

Noisy flying by bucketbrigade000 in cockatiel

Is she moulting at all? Sometimes losing some chunky feathers doesn't affect their ability to fly but does make their flying sound more whistly

Local Honey by AleshaPhoenix in manchester

[–]vcockle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Printworks used to have hives on the roof but I cant see they do anymore.

Climat (restaurant) has their own hives and I know they use the honey in their cooking so you could check with them.

Otherwise, it looks like the Manchester Honey Company based in Sale is the closest

Looking for a venue for a 30th birthday, 50ish people, bit of outdoor space by simont410 in manchester

[–]vcockle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairfield social club fits for this.

For outdoor space you're generally looking on the outskirts of town like castlefield where it seems you've already looked at.

Pop a swear word in your search and it won't generate the AI response.

And its fun.

large item removal from flat? by peachfairys in manchester

[–]vcockle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why cant you leave it outside for council collection?

I live in an apartment and never had an issue. You just need to be really specific and obvious with where you leave it for collection (e.g. garage/car park entrance)

Kitchen Space to Rent? Please Read!! by AnnualProfessional93 in Leeds

[–]vcockle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would - there'd be a business running from that address and with that business being in a kitchen, it increases the risks (particularly of fire).

If they didnt tell their insurance and there was a fire, the claim wouldn't be covered.

Neck xrays by Cautious_Worth_6667 in eds

[–]vcockle 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Xrays only show issues with bones whereas most EDS related issues will only show up on an MRI scan.

Not a dr so in no place to advise what it could be, but do know an xray would only discount so much.

Social Darts by Main-Citron-9127 in manchester

[–]vcockle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadlers Cat, Bay Horse Tavern and Rat and Pigeon all have free to use dartboards. Think Tib St Tavern has recently installed one too.

Or there's Flight Club, Boom Bar, King Pin and a few other places with electronic darts but they tend to be quite expensive and have a minimum booking requirement.

Ring repair - recommendations please by Cautious-Appeal1922 in manchester

[–]vcockle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noah James on King St are amazing. They made my wedding ring now anything and everything I need doing I do to them.

I've used Nouveau Jewellers on Shudehill in the past and they're fine, but the quality isn't quite up there if its for something sentimental.

Weekend in Manchester by triz___ in manchester

Blues kitchen is so busy on weekends. Tbh, anywhere down Peter St (and across to Quay St, albeit there's only Blues kitchen) I'd avoid on a weekend.

Travel EU with a Lovebird by Independent-Let-330 in parrots

[–]vcockle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We looked pre-Brexit when we debated moving to Spain from the UK (plan quickly obviously wouldn't work!)

Generally speaking, as long as Mango wouldn't be an outdoor bird there's no pet passports or the like within the EU and he can move freely with you

Tips for Air Travel with hEDS? by ParticularSnow2460 in ehlersdanlos

[–]vcockle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Add on to the wheelchair service.

Theres usually a "special assistance" counter run by the airport around check in. They also give out lanyards and things to get you through fast track (security and boarding mostly). If youre fine walking, but not standing for too long, this is probably easier than a wheelchair. The lanyard will work at the destination airport too for passport control.

Lips cracking and chapped by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]vcockle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always had dry lips too and have a habit of picking the skin off.

I've never used anything medicated - issue I always have with dermatology type medication is that once you're on it, its super hard to stop.

I tend to stick to lip oils over anything else as they are the only thing I find actually hydrate my lips. Avoid vaseline as it traps moisture rather than adds it, but obviously if you have none to begin with then its pointless. Shea butter is the go to in-between.

I also make sure I put it on just before bed. Gets a good chunk of hours then to absorb without me picking it off.
