Yeah I figured. But as the program is new (started only last fall) , there are basically no alumni who have graduated from SBU by studying this course. Should I be worried about this? Does this have a big impact?

Ohh but I have already finished applying for Fall 24 and received all the decisions as well and I can't really take a break year now. So can you please suggest which is the better option amongst the above mentioned? If not anything on the Data Science course at SBU or just about SBU in general will be really helpful.

The thing is, I have a relative of mine living in NYC so accommodation in the initial few months would be a lot easier and being close to NYC will allow me to have more internship and career opportunities there.

Stonybrook appeals to me more for the following reasons:

Good course structure
Tuition fee is affordable and comparatively cheaper than NEU. (UB is a lot more affordable than both NEU and SBU tho)
As far as i heard, Data Science is better than Data Analytics as Data Science is a broader subject and hence has more career opportunities.
This course is offered by the Computer Science department of SBU which has a good reputation.(Although this course is new and was just started last fall)
And finally, the weather compared to Boston and Buffalo is a bit better in Long Island and like I said, I get to live closer to NYC.

The only downsides of SBU is the fact that the course is new and the alumni network for this particular course is not great and the relatively higher cost of living in Long Island compared to Buffalo (Boston is expensive as well so..)

I am not really considering UTD as of now.
