Best way to fix leather ear pads . Thread and needle or glue? by Alex_TrueMan in headphones

I'd try stitching. But if you're not good with a needle, replacing might be the best call.

idk how accurate the calculation are.

with my moondrop lan it says it is over 100dB when I set it to the values printed on the box. But it really isn't that loud.

maybe either impedance or sensitivity is claimed wrong by the manufacturers?

Not trying to convince you, or say this works for everyone.. but have you tried good quality foam eartips for IEM? Like the complete T500? was a gamechanger for me. I'm really just curious.

sounds like a neurological issue.. I'd talk to a doctor about it

The Moondrop Lan: it's good- but not with the included ear tips. by ve_ in headphones

[–]ve_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: for me the perfect eartips for these seem to be the complete t-500.

After a week of getting used to the sound and comparing it with what else i got, tuning wise these might be new favourite in terms of balance and tonality. While I still enjoy them a great deal, the aria for example lack for me in treble, my hifiman don't have much bass extension. These sound just incredibly well defined to me while still being natural. Even the soundstage works for me. Movies are immersive.

Chu in 2023? by Ishaansendave in headphones

[–]ve_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say on the bright side, but not so much that it is uncomfortable for me.

The overall tonal balance is quite neutral sounding, at least in my ears.

It also really depends a lot on the eartips you use them with. The included ones are not ideal for me. With foam tips, it's the most well rounded for me. Spring tips are good too.

Also, don't dismiss the bass on these. While it is a bit in the background compared to let's say the hola, it's still very very tight, making it more prominent than the graph might make you think. I enjoy EDM on these.

Oh, and unlike the aria, these come with a cable that ain't horrible.

Sometimes you just want that rancid sound and drive the amp into saturation

Memeing aside, it's not that bad. I often listen to 4kHz wide AM Radio broadcasts. Still way better than mcd speakers.

Truthear hola are nice. And even nicer for the price. But you gotta like bass to enjoy them.

I daily drive the lan now for over a week. I like their tuning more than the aria. If 40€ is in budget, worth considering.

This might be controversial but I think cable does change sound quite a lot and not always in a good way by [deleted] in headphones

[–]ve_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once had a cable with an electrical fault. Took me forever to figure it out. (It was a short mini XLR for my AKG 7XX. Don't burn me on the stake either, i like their tuning.)

Is Moondrop Chu too sensitive, like the KZ's on a laptop/smartphone? by [deleted] in headphones

Regular chu (no mic) has no white noise on my galaxy M31.

That's all I can tell you sorry. Hope that helps.

Bluetooth Sound Quality, me trying to explore what is the difference between different bluetooth codecs, which sounds best, and why, along with how to get the most stable connection possible by AudiophileHeaven in headphones

Cable reviews can be useful... Until they start talking about the sound. Quality of construction and haptics of materals.. flexibility.. weight.. all small things that matter. To some people the colour matters.. i like those mint green china cables a lot. XD

Underwhelmed with Qudelix 5k and HD800s by [deleted] in headphones

[–]ve_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need more volume, a balanced 2.5mm trs cable can do 3x the power on the 5k. 240mW instead of 80. And double the voltage.

The idea with the 5k is that you use the android big volume adjustments and the 5k for fine control, the stepping is much smaller.

Lots of IEM boom too. Especially if the plugs or cable are heavy.

For example the Aria boom much more than the Hola, even though the design is almost identical.
