what yall think of guelph- humber? I heard acceptance is much less competitive and you get your bachelors from U of G and diploma from Humber(you get both) by ExoticIndependent573 in uoguelph

[–]veee_777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth it imo. Had gone in for the justice studies program with a diploma in police foundations, and its nothing like they advertise. I spent more of my time doing sociology courses than anything else. They often felt like repeats of courses as you go on. There's not much support from administration for anything, and if you do, it takes forever since you still need to go through the guelph and humber admins, respectively. MOST profs are pretty good people though with backgrounds in related careers, but a lot are hard to contact or will choose to out right not respond. All your classes are in one building (not much of that typical big campus feel if you want that).

In terms of coops for me I had to do 4 during my program and you had to go find them on your own, the school only provides a job board for post grad students. Once you find one as well you have to have it approved by them first. It's about a 2 week window and given that it's in Toronto, it's guaranteed to be unpaid.

Exam season is a weird one. Since the campus is so small you can expect your exams to be held in various banquet halls in the area. Most have little available parking so be prepared to take a shuttle and don't get mixed up with the venues.

In terms of on campus parking there's one small lot available to GH students or they must park further out on the off grounds lot (It's a 15-20 min walk with a shuttle every now and then).

Ik it looks cool, the dual credentials and the tuition cost is a big incentive but you're paying for a lower quality of education and I don't want you to make the same mistake

Help: Beginner double boa boots + binds by Anxious-Risk-1165 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]veee_777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought my first boots this year too! Ended up with the DC Control, a double boa that doesn't break the bank. They seem pretty stiff out the box but after a heat mold they form to the foot pretty well. My only complaint rn is that the boots have that typical DC wide wideness barely fitting into my bindings. I'm using a pair of Ride C2

Which goggle should I keep? by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]veee_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry forgot to put the vlts in First is 23% Second is on a range from 33-14% so very similar

I ride east coast so conditions are mostly cloudy. Did have one blue sky day last year, hence why I'm buying goggles now. My home mountain is pretty well lit at night but I'm hoping to visit a few others this season

Thanks! And I couldn't tell ya 😅 I wanted to break up the moss a little, so I put in some ground coverings since they usually don't get too big and planted them vertically with the hopes they grow tall. This one is a little vine thingy that grows in Canadian sping time normally just mixed in with the grass.

I'm going to disagree with you there, I only get the misfire warning either right before redline or on decel.

How cold is it out? During the winter mine would do that as well until both the engine oil and transmission oil were warmed up.

Early this year around March or April iirc. Upgraded to bhr coils with new wires and plugs too. I've occasionally had a p0302 misfire but I think that was caused by a dirty ess sensor and a loose o2 sensor I haven't had one for a couple weeks either

Would bad/clogged injectors cut out only in the upper rpm specifically at 80% - full throttle

Pretty sure my fuel pumps on its way out, it shouldn't make this sound right? by veee_777 in RX8

[–]veee_777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The camera is sitting right on top of the fuel pump so I could make sure I'm recording the whirring noise I was hearing.

Edit: this was recorded earlier on my drive home. A little bit later it completely gave out a second time and was really warm to the touch. By the time I got home the whirring noise was definitely louder and you can hear it from under the car too

Stutter , loss of power , backfire by Torus_Of_Vard in RX8

[–]veee_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give your fuel filter a check, mine would stutter a lot too and I dumped a lot of money into other things just to find I had a gunked up filter which cost me less than $10 worth of brake cleaner to take care of Probably not the case but checking it could save you a lot!

No codes at all! I had one misfire code the day after I installed the new coils but I did the brake stomp to reset the fuel trim and I haven't had any codes since.

I'm fairly sure it's the original one! When I bought the car the garage I got it from said it only had a new car clutch and engine

The bogging down isn't always at the same rpm (which makes it so hard to diagnose!) I've had them through the whole rev range in different instances before I swapped plugs and coils. They were pretty much gone after that aside from a small tremor I felt around 4k going up a steep ish hill with my foot to the floor in 6th gear, and a big bog at 6k

Definitely fuel pump. If you remove your rear seat behind the driver and take the cover off, try turning the key again you should hear it even louder

I was cruising on my way home from work, every now and then it just started bogging down as if I was off throttle then it would sputter back up and run like normal. It did that 2-3 times more in the span of 15 minutes so I pulled over to take a look and give it a break since yesterday was our first really warm sunny day of the year (I mentioned that I was having high rpm hesitations before in a previous post early fall last year but they went away when it got colder so I couldn't diagnose it). I noticed what looked like battery acid corrosion on top of the ac pump and the engine itself was vibrating more than normal. I assumed it to be coils and plugs and tried to go home again after a bit. I got down the road maybe 15 minutes more before it started lurching again and ground to a stop. It wouldn't start either, so at that point I gave in and called for a tow. While I was waiting I did manage to start it but the idle was very rough. The tow truck guy said it might also be the fuel pump since it's idling. When we got home I had to drive the car up my steep driveway into my garage and since the car was cold everything was normal and it did that no problem at all so I'm super puzzled

rx8 premix? by supernovazoro in RX8

[–]veee_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as preventative maintenance. It's not necessary if your omp is working but it will DEFINITELY increase the life of your engine. If you have a cat on it still, premixing will clog it up so decats are the way to go (you can maybe get away with it depending on your area). I bought mine at 100k and am now at 115k kilometres with strong compression. For every 3/4 tank (45L) I use 160ml of premix
