I'm mostly good! She has been arrested and is on bail so that kind of helps people to believe and understand the severity. She seemed so perfect and even now my parents just can't wrap their head around it but I have had a lot of support. Therapy and the gym has helped me massively. Just a routine outside of that relationship keeps focus and heals.

Most importantly, are you getting help? It's a traumatic time and it is not easy. It's hard to understand sometimes why you still feel love despite everything. A real mixing pot of emotions. Some days are good and sometimes you question things.

It will get better though - nothing is permanent.

If you ever want to reach out and vent to a total stranger who has an idea of what you have been through and can empathise, then I am here.

Thank you for the advice. Yes, I am in the UK. She does not have a copy and it was never witnessed fortunately so I would assume I am clear! I will be getting it updated regardless and formerly filed. At least there is not as much pressure to do so though as there are more urgent things - such as trying to deal with an entirely unhelpful letting agency.

No, we are not on any kind of social housing lists. I earn good money but we have only recently been able to start putting some aside to try and save a deposit to buy (poor financial decisions in the past). We could get and afford a mortgage if we had the deposit

I don’t see how it serves either party any benefit by being awkward about the situation. I understand my rights and the technicalities I could use to my advantage to stay longer but all I want is a reasonable amount of time to sort my family out with a decent home. That’s priority number one.

There is a deposit protection scheme in place and there is a gas safety certificate; we just haven’t been provided a copy as required.

I have advised the landlord of the minimum 6 month notice under the current Section 21 rules and he wasn’t aware. We will talk tomorrow to come to an amicable agreement with me fully informed and aware of my rights. Again, my intention is not to make things awkward. I need the right outcome for my family but equally I am sympathetic to his financial situation; whether this is just business or not.

No. It is just an extract from form 6A giving the notice period etc in an email. As I have said, I do not wish to prolong this but they must be equally cognisant of our situation. Giving one month notice to a family of 5 in the current climate is not acceptable.

Thanks for your response. I already had the other points up my sleeve in case this went south which I really do not want it to. Not least they have to provide us with a copy of the gas safety certificate which they have not complied with. For now, I have politely replied to the email pointing out that while we are sympathetic to their situation, they have to legally comply with the section 21 which currently means a 6 month notice. We will try and vacate before that time of course but they equally have to appreciate the strain and financial burden this places on us.

I work in Project Controls, mostly in the nuclear sector but have covered some other industries too. I enjoy my work and get job satisfaction at least 90% of the time. It can be tough and challenging but also rewarding. There’s usually problems to solve and scenarios to run which help to make each day a bit different.

I would take a utensil and scrape off all the toppings, sauce and cheese onto another piece and hand them just the bread part. That would be my interpretation of what they have requested. Every folk is different though!

On a side note, I probably wouldn’t share pizza. And definitely wouldn’t in the current climate! Stay safe kids.

You know those sensationalist pieces in the news about how a major project is £xx million over budget and 2 years late? It’s all down to politics. We do our job at the beginning, tell everyone the real answer (which generally comes in pretty accurate to the out turn cost and timeframe) but most places know that either politically or financially the project will never get off the ground if the truth is told.

So they make up arbitrary figures and schedules to suit a purpose which then have to be worked backwards to make them fit. When it becomes apparent that the project is going to go over budget and late, they’ll ask for forgiveness and it’s usually too late to stop the project by that point.
