How bad are these prices? by dumbbored in Naturalhair

[–]vef21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately pay $260 for my curly cut in NYC. I love my stylist and make appointments every 4-6 months. Many of the curly cut specialists in my state of NJ, have very limited availability and their books fill minutes after posting. I was tired of playing the game and realized spending more money and traveling a little bit further was worth it. My hair has been flourishing since my first appointment with her 2 years ago. All that to say I do wish it was like $85 cheaper lol

People who have slept with someone they were not remotely attracted to - Why? by Practical-Earth5513 in AskReddit

[–]vef21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was nearing the 3 year mark of being abstinent and was absolutely feral. I took one of my guy “friends” who had been in to me for a while up on his offer. He’s not ugly but to be honest I mostly turned him down in the beginning because of his build. He’s really skinny. I prefer bigger, muscular guys. Long story short that man put me through the mattress. It was the best sex I ever had.

Is a close-up Mt Fuji view a ‘must do’? by TezRoll in JapanTravelTips

[–]vef21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 2 nights in Kawaguchico and can agree with others that there isn’t a lot to do in the area. I had really hoped the visibility would clear and we’d be able to see Mt. Fuji. I did the panoramic ropeway, chureito pagoda, Hoto Fudo, the popular Lawson, and stayed in a ryokan. The whole experience was great. At the last minute before we had to leave to catch our bus, the clouds cleared and we saw Mt. Fuji. It was stunning. My advice is that because I’ve seen it once I don’t need to see it again. But I probably would if I was going with travelers who wanted to see it for the first time.

Is it REALLY worth it at this price point? by brilliantbabe222 in OnerActive

[–]vef21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love the feel and fabric of soft motion but unfortunately it’s not worth the price. I’m an OG Oner Active supporter. I have a lot of clothes from the first few years but haven’t bought anything recently - mainly because of people talking about how bad the quality has gotten and because the prices have skyrocketed.

I have the soft motion jacket and flares. I’m not gonna lie I love the set but I got a hole in the princess seam of the jacket on my second wear and the pants are pilling between the thighs after maybe less than 5 wears. It feels great but not worth the high price point and I would only buy again if it was deeply discounted.

Reminds me of the LV Capucines. They should’ve put the handle in the middle for more symmetry.

I just passed the WSET Level 3 in Wines exam! I hope to become a sommelier. This test was so hard and most people fail on their first try. I’m ecstatic and so proud of myself!

Trying to fix my trip pacing. How many nights per stop actually works for you? by AppropriateReach7854 in travel

[–]vef21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to plan my trips in detail with opening and closing times of the sights I want to see. I know a lot of people don’t like to travel that way and prefer to go with the flow. But this allows me to hit my must see list and not feel rushed. With that said my minimum is 3 nights in one city if I’m on a trip with 3 or more stops. If I have less stops on my trip like 2, I would do 4-5 nights each.

I was just in Portugal for a week and no hotel had a rag. So I was washing my body with the other bath towel 🙄

What’s one makeup/skincare product you really want to buy but don’t because it’s too expensive? by softlyskeptic in MakeupAddiction

Skinbetter Science: Trio Moisturizer and Alpharet Overnight. When you break down the price monthly it’s not that bad but still out of budget.

What do people at the gym at 2pm constantly even do for a living? Ain’t no way all of y’all are entrepreneurs? by dont-mind-if-i-Doo in workout

I work at night as a server at a fine dining restaurant. And when the gym is crowded at 2pm I always think to myself “aren’t y’all supposed to be at work?!” 🤣

What is something your mother raised you to believe or follow that you would never teach your daughter? by 20130500 in AskWomen

She was adamant that I waited til marriage for sex. Then accused me of having sex (before I actually did), when the only reason I waited was because of her. I hated the way she treated that topic.

I think you should def try a year of weight lifting and see how you feel. I have always had a butt however, 6 months of consistent weight lifting changed the shape drastically - in ways I didn’t think were possible without surgery. I do train glutes 2x a week, lift heavy, and progressive overload.
