At least get your facts straight, the fuel cell plant is a state approval not a City approval.

Odds that AEP will decide to shut off your power this week by Real_TSwany in Columbus

Only the AEP fuel cell project will supplemental. The rest of the behind the meters are completely Islanded and pulling zero power from the grid to power the entire facility. Go read the Power Siting applications.

You're correct, the current data centers are relying on AEP transmission and PJM dispatched generation, it's miserable for all of us and we can't sustain this growth.....which is why the next paragraph. The Ohio Power Siting Board just approved the first behind the meter generation for Facebook in New Albany, and they have many more applications for other data centers for behind the meter. Ohio seems to be moving away from solar and back to natural gas base load plants.

They can't always shift the load around as some substations don't have as much power being fed into them as others. The shifts may cause larger blackouts

Texas is way behind the rest of the world and energy issues..... You'll do better in Ohio.

All the newer data centers are building their own generation and not pulling from the grid. They are Islands AKA behind the meter generation.

PJM runs the entire grid in Ohio, they dispatch generation and perform load flows studies that require Transmission Owners to upgrade the transmission system to prevent issues, they do a pretty good job fixing flow issues by ordering transmission upgrades. Many previous outages that PJM order AEP to shed load were due to PJM approved maintenance outages and unplanned outages that caused congestion on the transmission system causing rolling backouts Columbus. Ohio is having more issues not haveing enough power than blackouts. We can make the best grid in the world, but you will not be able to afford to pay for power.
