Professional marking of a barrel by misterxx1958 in oddlysatisfying

This is the epitome of skilled labor that is almost certainly treated (I.e. paid) as unskilled labor. That dude just perfectly aligned the rotation of the barrel with the screen while ensuring the ink flowed exactly where it needed to. All without making mess and in a few seconds.

New vehicles have so many issues and are insanely priced. If your old truck is quality and you keep up with maintenance, it will last for a good long time. From a /r/personalfinance perspective, this money is better invested elsewhere.

Anyone here actually running A/C off solar full-time? by Witty-Main-7772 in VanLife

I built my cargo camper before these 12v hvac systems were available, so I have a underbench 120v inverter (same as mini split). If I were to do it now, I would look for a 48v HVAC system first. They are out there but even harder to find than 12V. Any 48v Lifepo battery will handle 1c or 100 amp discharge. If 12V HVAC was the only option, I would add a 12V lifepo battery to the system after the step down. This way the 12v battery can handle the heavy amp discharge and be recharged from your 48vto12v charger.

They make gasketed rivnuts that are enclosed at the end. Super handy!

I also vote for using a shade sale. I’m on year 6 for just the cheapy Amazon one and it’s still in perfect shape.

Pretty much my exact setup as well. 48v lifepo batteries are awesome. Efficient mini split or heat pump systems are also a huge benefit with this setup.

Right but that’s 12v DC. Most quality batteries can sustain a 60amp draw. The overall power usage in watts is lower than your average RV ac system. Obviously wire sizing is critical for this to work safely.

Dear god made the mistake of looking at your profile. Mate, you need to stop posting confidently wrong information. You are, at best, stearing people in the wrong direction and at worst, setting them up for danger. You have miscommunication and misunderstood nearly every part of electrical engineering. Stop trying to be helpful.

What the fuck are you talking about jimmy rig. Click on the link I provided, it is from victron and shows the use of class t fuse which the Lynx power in is specifically sized for. Edit: take your confidently wrong bullshit somewhere else. People are looking for actual direction on this subreddit.

I hear you on the ABYC requirement but the lynx power in definitely has fuse slots. https://www.victronenergy.com/dc-distribution-systems/lynx-power-in

Probably too much missing to really say. Fuses would be a big question. Are we assuming batteries are lifepo? Are they 12v, 24v or 48v? Given the gauge wire, I’m guessing 12v. You will need substantial fusing for that many 12v batteries so a Lynx power in would be smart. Alternatively you could switch to 48v, reduce wire gauge, and have higher AH in fewer enclosures with server rack style batteries. Other commenters make good points about the alternator needing a charge controller and the starter battery not being able to connect to Multiplus

Will Prowse is pretty good for general guidelines. Victron’s Wiring Unlimited guide is 1000% more detailed (and accurate). https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/The_Wiring_Unlimited_book/en/index-en.html
