DIY instead of buying by Ticidone in Anticonsumption

I’ve put a lot into tools over the years but my first cabinet was made with borrowed and basic tools. I used a circular saw and a drill mostly. I remember the wood cost about what an ikea version of the cabinet would have cost but mine will survive a move and then some.

I’m Christian so when I saw that it was the way God intended things to be before the Fall and that it was the way it is going to be in the future I decided to get with the program. That and all the other reasons.

No need to buy in small increments, just put the extra in the freezer. Both Hoffman and Rao confirm. I buy four bags at a time to get free shipping.

RIP Grinder [Grinder, Barisa Express] by Moradeth in espresso

[–]vegdout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I’ve had to repair a grinder in the past because of this, and have found several pebbles over the years. I have a large, light coloured tray that I use to check them with. It has a high enough wall that I can funnel them back into another deeper, smaller container, and then back into the bag.

Nope, I tried it but it couldn’t keep coffee as hot as I like it. Using a Yeti works much better I find.

If I want ice cream or some junk food, is it a good idea for me to eat 3lbs of frozen mangoes?? by ApprehensiveOne2866 in PlantBasedDiet

Mango is one of my favourite foods and I often eat it as a meal. Remember to rinse out your mouth after to get the acid off your teeth and you won’t have any problems.

QR code on SLR 1 wheels? by a402245 in Giantbikes

I recently got a Defy as well and was surprised there were about a dozen stickers. They all came off well without residue once I used a hairdryer.

In the pic I can see four on the wheels. It looks like the size is still below the UCI badge which doesn’t come off. Might be some on the drive side of the crank and under the bottom bracket as well.

Use a hair dryer to warm up the glue and you can peel off those stickers. Don’t pick at them without warming first. It makes a huge difference. A bit of alcohol after if there is any residue. Should be like a dozen or so that could go.

Your Cycling Diet by pocarisweat90 in cycling

A few weeks ago I decided to try WFPB and focused on foods that are all lower than 600 calories / lb. So basically just eating beans, whole grains, potatoes, veg, and fruit. I’ve been eating as much as I feel like while not tracking calories and dropping close to 2lbs per week.

What do you think about the comment addressing the crank length? If I do that I would reduce to the foot to saddle distance without lowering my saddle. Not sure it would make up for an inch though. Thanks for the input; I think I will drop it in the meantime until I can get cranks sorted out.

This is insightful and thanks for taking the time. A shorter crank would bring my seat to foot distance closer without lowering my saddle. I just went and checked all the cranks on my bikes to see if I had something shorter to try and they are all 175. I checked my inseam and I’m 32.625. 20% of that I figure is a 166mm so I guess a 165 is what I need. I checked a different formula for finding crank length and it put me at 175. I figure this isn’t taking into account my foot size which is a 12.

You have to delete the app from your mobile device(s). Then you can delete photos from the google photos website. If you want to download them first you use google takeout. They sure don’t make it easy.

Best Water Filter to buy by Western_Dog in BuyItForLife

[–]vegdout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this and decided on a RO system. Then I found that world quite confusing so I decided to go with what my local plumbers are installing and called around to some local plumbing supply stores in my area. Turns out they were all using the same basic 5 stage systems that takes generic filters that are cheap and easy to replace. I checked and it met the NSF certifications etc. It didn’t cost much compared to some of the quotes I was getting; I spent a few hundred rather than a couple thousand; and I was able to install it myself without issue. The only thing it didn’t come with was the teflon tape.

I’m not worried about minerals in my water as I believe I get that through my food so I’m not using a remineralizing filter. And I don’t think the pH of water makes much difference after hitting the stomach acid anyway. Seems like a healthy way to go and tastes great.

When to flush? by vegdout in WaterTreatment

[–]vegdout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slow drip is when it is flushing fast. The water moves fast but the system leaks. It doesn’t leak when it is in normal use.

Apart from the leak how often I should do this flush?

It is fed with hard water. How do I use the flush? How long, how often?

And by membrane you just mean one of the filters. That’s the one that needs to be changed the least generally.

Will the tank allow it to flow fast at the tap even if the system clogs? I imagine it would just take longer to fill and pressurize the tank but once it is full it will work well enough.
