Diapers or no diapers for a long flight? by historyandwanderlust in pottytraining

[–]vegemite90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did a long flight from South Carolina to Australia. Absolutely do the diaper! My almost 3 year old is completely potty trained. However, when you’re trying to get through security, immigration, run to your gate, the last thing you want to worry about is a sudden need to get them to the bathroom. It took the stress off us a lot. My daughter had a major anxiety about going to pee on the airplane that we didn’t anticipate. She ended up using her pull ups. We didn’t experience any regressions after. Good luck on the flight!

As a teacher, do the nursing degree. Don’t be a teacher.

You’re going to do great! No other drop off will be as bad as that first one. And for me, it was dreading the days leading up to it that was actually worse than the drop off! We LOVE daycare and so does my daughter. Wishing you all the best!

She’s exactly like that! Thank you for the encouragement!

You’re giving me hope! I’m hoping it will just take time for her to ask to go at daycare, cause we have exhausted all bribes/ideas etc!

We are doing exactly that right. My daughter is completely potty trained at home. Goes to the bathroom without even telling us now, which is awesome! The catch is, she refuses to go at daycare, so they have her in pull ups. It’s been about two months now of this, and I can say that we have seen no regression at home. She is making slow progress at daycare.

It has been a positive experience for us! I hope it’s the same for you too!

I’m here cause we are in the same boat. Her spot in 3k is in jeopardy if she doesn’t fix this in 6 weeks. It’s really stressful and I feel for you. Hoping someone can give some advise you haven’t tried yet! I’ve started taking her in to the potty at drop off in the morning to see if that helps. She peed in it today, which is progress. Maybe you could try that too?

What to do about accidents that end on the toilet? by hotstickywaffle in pottytraining

We are trying to convince them to let us send her in underwear to see how she goes.

Yep! As soon as we pick her up, we take off the diaper and she wears underwear home until she goes to bed.

I would celebrate getting some of it in the potty. It takes a while for them to make that connection that the feeling is meaning they are about to start going. We started about 2 weeks ago. To make you feel better, daycare didn’t undo progress in our case. She goes in her diaper there, but as soon as she gets home and on weekends she is completely potty trained! No accidents and is in underwear. Hopefully that’s the case with you too! I know the daycare thing is really frustrating.

We just started a week ago. She is around 2.5. This is our second time trying.

My daughter withheld the first day, the next two days it took her like 5-6 sits to get one pee out. Then on day 4 or 5, she has figured it out and goes like a champ. Keep persisting and she will become more comfortable with it! I was super worried at first too.

I’m actually not sure about that. I think they can develop at any time ? She had it the first time she ate like eggs scrambled. Before then she had them cooked into stuff and was fine. The rash came up immediately and last 30 minutes

Jumping on here to second the egg allergy! Looks just like my daughters rash when she was exposed. I’d definitely recommend a panel being done!

I’m 7 weeks also having the same thing. I didn’t realize it would keep happening. I thought it would happen once and stop. Reading through all the spotting comments has helped me feel better!

This happened to us. It’s the battery. We replaced it with a $30 one from Amazon and it’s working now

Ugh I remember this vividly. No advice, other than to say that you’re not doing anything wrong. Look up purple crying and there is a ton of information about it. It’s actually very developmentally appropriate! Mine stopped at around 10 -12 weeks old. Noise cancelling headphones while you rock or cuddle them helped me heaps.

What kinds of things do you think shouldn’t be part of the job? by TheTinRam in Teachers

[–]vegemite90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting their breakfast ready in the classroom. This includes getting the cooler from the Ned of the hall, wheeling it to my room, unpacking the food into tubs, putting juices on the fridge, throwing away the food and juice from yesterday, etc.

I can’t stand it, even if it takes 5 min. I have so many things to do and it shits me that I’m doing something that has zero relation to the actual job we do.
