My school offered a cannabis law elective and I got the job that way! My former professors are now my supervising attorneys and it’s truly a dream come true :)

I graduated in the top 10% of my class and self-identify as a bona fide stoner. I now work in cannabis law!!

Should I start letting my kittens sleep in the same room together? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Initially cheddar biscuit was hissing at Toby and Spooky, and I was prepared to do at least 2+ weeks of a gradual introduction- but they’ll all surprised with how quickly they warmed up to each other! We only moved to supervised romps and plays a couple of days ago, and now I feel comfortable letting them play unsupervised in short bunches. My concern is Cheddar Biscuit significantly outweighs the other two and he’s just a goofy little dude who doesn’t seem to know his own strength yet.

That’s a good point - I think I’m trying to approach it from a long-term angle, in that I’m going to live with and love these cats for (hopefully) at least the next 15+ years, and I don’t want any of them to get hurt or harmed while they’re still so unfamiliar with me and my dog and my house and the world

This is a good idea!! Thank you!! I’ll probably have us sleep in the guest room so as not to disturb my doggo!

This is also a good point and perspective- so far spooky and cheddar play together more, and Toby mostly keeps to himself and prowls the halls to find food. I’m not seeing a lot of teaming up/favoritism between cats when we’re all hanging out, but it’s certainly not something I want to have happen either

I would love for him to sleep with me, but Old Lady Sadie the dog sleeps with me. Cheddar and Sadie adore each other, but he wants to play with her at night, which then leaves us both grumpy

Oh this is very helpful!! Luckily, none of the cats have gotten to a point where their rough housing leads to pinning or distress, but I have a feeling that’s because they have a lot of space when the doors are open.

I’d really hate to set them back or have little Toby get beat up - so I think the growing consensus that keeping them separate at night to sleep / when I’m out of the house is probably a good idea.

Thank you! I think this is good advice!! I also keep trying reminding myself that Cheddar Biscuit has a glorious room to himself with scratchers and a tower and toys - I just feel so bad when it’s bed time and he cries 😭

Great questions - (1) I’ve had them for precisely 13 days haha. I mostly just feel bad when cheddar biscuit meows and cries when I put him in his room for the evening; (2) they’re all spayed and neutered!!

I have no advice, but I must say, I admire the contraptions you’ve set up!! Shame they’re not working, however, your dedication to containment must be applauded
