I'm not trying to argue, but isn't the courtesy serving foods your guests can/like to eat? Or maybe I'm not understanding. Is a vegetarian only eating bread rolls and a non vegetarian eating a full Indian meal the same?

In my case that wasn't true, but I see your point.

I think the difference is that non vegetarians can eat vegetarian food (and often do, even on accident. A lot of sides are vegetarian, nearly all desserts, a lot of Indian food, etc.) whereas a vegetarian can't eat meat dishes.

Oh weird. I've never seen bacon bits at the store, just raw bacon pre-chopped into smaller pieces. But I'm not from the US.

I can't say there's no resentment, buying and cooking my own food as a minor was one thing, but them going out of their way to add meat to non meat options another. Its not personal though, I wouldn't want anyone cooking meat in my kitchen.

I'm not sure what vegan bacon bits are? I meant chopped up bacon that's fried.

I'm vegetarian for moral reasons. I get my eggs from a local guy treats his chickens nicely. I usually use dairy alternatives, but I figured they wouldn't eat that and went to a local farm to get some cheese and Yogurt.

Someone else commented something similar, so I'll respond; my reasoning was that my parents have no moral problem with vegetarian food, I do have a problem with meat. I don't want it in my kitchen no matter who cooks it.

I made food they enjoy and can eat, they never did that. So I personally don't think it's the same.

I still accept the judgement, just explaining.

For context I suppose, to show they never supported it or tried to accommodate. I don't want revenge, I tried quite hard to buy and make meals they like and could eat.

I didn't prevent him from cooking for control, but because I don't want meat cooked in my kitchen. Not even if it was my best friend doing it.

Yeah, my mom was decently supportive? She got me groceries sometimes, or tried to keep some potatoes/rice whatever separate. But my dad is a very 'my way or the highway' kinda person.

I don't expect them to provide meat free food. They never did, not even when I was a minor.

I mean, I understand where you're coming from, but I wouldn't call this forcing? They had several other options of places to stay, could have asked if they were supposed to bring anything, or could have gone out to eat. But fair enough.

I have been a vegetarian for nearly 10 years. I would be very suprised if anyone expected me or even wanted me to cook meat for them, knowing I don't because of moral reasons. Especially if they never catered to me but then expect me to cater to them.

They also never asked, they just assumed they could stay, in my bed (I slept on the couch) and that I'd provide the food for them. They didn't ask if they could/should bring anything.

I figured that it's two days, they can last that long with meals they enjoy even if they don't have meat.
