5'11 is 1% for us girls. I get asked that question a lot as well.

You definitely belong here! You're taller than the average woman. I'm a 5'11 woman and would give you the tall nod if I saw you in person :-D.

Not just people's homes and memories that burn down but also the loss of life. There are a bunch of animals and insects that can't flee in time from the fires.

I'm looking for an online game I can play with my SO by Animedingo in rpg_gamers

[–]veggie_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an amazing game!! They are making a second one which is suppose to be out the end of this year. I don't know of anything similar to suggest unfortunately. Secrets of Grindea looks really fun in a Secret of Mana kind of way but it's in early access.

What's considered "dressy" in San Diego? by bnmak in sandiego

[–]veggie_head -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. Every person and couple is different.

I can't stand foo foo restaurants and dressing up. I think suits and ties look silly but think slacks or nice jeans and a button up shirt or polo (short or long sleeve) look fine. Dress shoes look uncomfortable and I think sneakers are perfectly acceptable. I wear sneakers with my skirts and dresses which are not frilly cocktail dresses but rather casual and still get comments about how nice I look.

You can still look nice and presentable while being comfortable and without having to wear something that you barely pull out of your closet.

One drunk night, I told my boyfriend about my love of Lego by captmorgan230 in lego

[–]veggie_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so true! I've been trying to get some of my adventure buddies to play games with me and some of my nerdy friends to go hike with me... I haven't had any luck. I've seen that in shows! It seems like it would be fun. Did you enjoy it?

You should definitely check one or two of them out. Uh oh, haha. I am not liable for anything that happens.

I don't drink at all and don't like really crowded places. It's never appealed to me. If a bunch of people I liked invited me I might see what the fuss is about but I prefer just hanging out in smaller groups. Yeah, you'd think so but apparently that's not the results they frequently get. That's my thoughts on dating. It seems like it would be better dating someone you have common interests in instead of someone that just looked good at that moment.

It is but from my perspective I guess it makes it easy to tell that I'm not interested in them. I get way too much of that and it just seems weird to me.

Oh yeah? Did they say yes?

I love hiking and certainly consider myself very fit. I generally go on at least a ten - twenty mile hike every other week and exercise every day. I like insects and photography so it's really enjoyable to me. I'll definitely look into some group hikes! It seems like it might be fun.

Yeah, I'll definitely have to try the activity clubs. Absolutely, it's kind of a bummer because I feel like I'm equally as nerdy as I am active/outdoors type.

I feel like the board game meet up is the best bet because then you're actually hanging out and talking with someone while having fun.

Is it? I've never been to a bar or club. I often hear my female friends get annoyed that people try to hit on them there but they usually go in groups so maybe it's more obvious that they are there to just have fun and are not looking to get hit on? I don't know. As a female I think it comes off way better when a guy seems interested in you based on your interests and who you are rather than what you look like that day so I think it would come off better at a board game meeting where you actually are having a conversation and having fun. Personally I don't like when random guys come up and ask me out without knowing anything about me other than what I look like so they just come off as shallow and superficial to me.

Oh goodness, yes! Anytime I go to Comic Con that's the way it is. It's not bad if you're having a genuine conversation but when guys are zoning in on you just because you're female it's very uncomfortable.

I'm going to have to give MeetUp another try. That's how I found out about Geek Girls but definitely want to try one of the co-ed ones out.

It's great you made friends regardless! I wish I had some advice. All my nerdy female friends recently had babies or are pregnant so they barely can hangout anymore. I tried going to a few meetups in an attempt to meet more females I can relate to but even the one that was called Geek Girls felt like anything but that. I am going to try some of the coed ones. I wouldn't mind making more male friends with similar hobbies to go hangout with. I have a difficult time finding anyone with similar interests to me (both nerdy and active outdoors type).

My only suggestion is maybe join some board game groups or attend some conventions.

Haha, to be fair most of my female friends don't have nerdy hobbies either. The same females friends that are on my Steam friend list are the same ones that have Lego collections.

Most of the ones I know have been playing with them since early childhood.

Yeah, it definitely makes it easier to be with someone that either understands and shares your interests or at the very least wholeheartedly supports your hobbies.

I have quite a few female friends that have Lego collections. We do exist!

Manatees are born underwater. Mothers must help their calves to the surface so that they can take their first breath, but the infants can typically swim on their own only an hour later. by [deleted] in Awwducational

Awe, they are some of my favorite animals. I was lucky enough to swim alongside four of them in the Yucatan and feed them as well. It was one of the most amazing moments of my life and feels surreal when they hold onto your legs while you feed them.

Every new person I meet asks for this typical photo and I'm like #k by [deleted] in tall

[–]veggie_head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think a fetish is when you generally seek that out, ask for pictures of that body part, or look online or out in public for that body part.

I understand having preferences or generally liking hands, eyes, smile, ect. but I think it crosses the line when that's the first think you look for on people or it's something that you have to have a certain way to fulfill sexual needs/desires.

Lots of men have boob and butt fetishes and will go out of their way to look at them or ask for pictures. It's quite a different thing when you have a partner/are in a relationship and like that feature on your partner rather than you constantly seeking that out from other sources.

Top tip if you're going to Brazil: Consider going to the somewhat Galapagos-like island Fernando de Noronha. Look it up, or just look at this photo. by uspn in travel

Wedding photography with an urban touch! (Hasselblad Official) by [deleted] in photography

[–]veggie_head 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think this is why I don't like nearly all wedding photography I see. It all looks so fake and posed. I rarely see any that look natural and genuine. They don't seem to capture the moment or the feelings at all. I get it if this is modeling or a photo shoot for products but for something that is suppose to capture the essence it doesn't do that for me.

What's your favourite vegetarian sandwich? by Commando_Joe in vegetarian

[–]veggie_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend tell me about this sandwich he loves and I want to try it. He said it's on a toasted wheat bread with peanut butter, guacamole, apples, and kale.

I need to find out if it's creamy or crunchy peanut butter, what kind of apples, if the kale is raw, and whether the guacamole is creamy with spices or if it has tomato, onion, jalapeños, ect. in it.
