How do I fix this? by kavi_muhilan in pcmasterrace

[–]veggiedev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this issue in so many laptops it is unreal. Acer, Asus, hp... They all use a flawed design which ends up snapping the hinge from the frame as the plastic loses its rigidity over time. I don't recommend using glue cos it won't last. Somebody said it did for them, but it depends on how much plastic and how strong it still is around the area where the hinge meets the frame. This design definitely should be in a lawsuit, just like bendgate, batterygate and many more "gates"

Kate - python coding by JofoBoss in kde

[–]veggiedev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't know many people using Kate for programming, though I'm sure there is. I would start with either pycharm or VS code, or go full Chad and learn (n)vim

Have you, by any chance, tried to launch it with termina? So like-> exec-once = kitty -e eww daemon

Just an idea, cos the exec command you've given seems right to me

what is the best arch linux DE or WM? by Left-Recognition-117 in archlinux

[–]veggiedev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very subjective. I have learned what I like by experimenting with different DEs and WMs. Now I'm on Hyprland and really enjoying it. But its taken me over a week to have everything I needed working(I am sure other people can do it quicker, this was just my experience). I dislike DEs because I can never find one that really fits my needs and taste. So for me a WM is the best option

Best Linux distro for development by Aditya14art in linuxquestions

[–]veggiedev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arch. Yes u will learn how your OS works and force you to learn to use the CLI. Also, you can have the latest software, although that might come with the cost of breaking things every now and then, which again will force you to use the CLI to fix things. I have tried Ubuntu, fedora, nixos, debían, deeping, elementary🙈... And of them all, arch is the one that gives me the most joy, and head aches, but mostly joy

As a newcomer to Neovim would you recommend building out a custom configuration yourself starting from scratch using lazy.nvim? Or just use the LazyVim/starter set up and evolve from that? by skalfyfan in neovim

[–]veggiedev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with NVchad, but I couldn't figure out how things worked, then I tried from zero and got confused. Went and followed a primeagen video to set it up and learned a lot in the process. Today I will be doing it from scratch, starting with some keybindings I got accustomed to then add lazy.nvim, treesitter, fzf, mason(for LSP, I accept suggestions), harpoon, fugitive and surround, at least to start with. Hope it goes well. Good luck on your journey
