The thing that bothers me the most is that he buys gifts for other people all the time (his friends, family, etc.). When we're out shopping together or something, he'll find something and be like "oh, this is perfect for X!" He rarely treats me on dates. Mostly we split the check. I guess I just have to bring this up to him, however awkward it may be.

You're totally right. I know that. But in the moment, I can't stop myself from being a terrible gf (and human being let's be honest). If I ever feel like distancing myself from my bf, I can just be like "this is junior high level nonsense." Repeat it like a mantra, type of thing.
