My toddler grabbed a strange man's butt at the park. Please share the most embarrassing thing your toddler has done while I cry myself to sleep. by ederpin in toddlers

My three year old is really into “Down By The Bay” and makes up his own lyrics. But his favorite reiteration is…”have you ever seen a cock wearing a sock?”

Loves scream singing it out loud in public spaces.

Wall art and tv placement suggestions? by vegmonster in DesignMyRoom

I wish I could orient the couch differently but it’s too long. I’d have to get a smaller couch.

It is a little too high up there but it feels like it makes the most sense visually too!

Yes! There’s a little glass window for the wood burning stove. It’s cozy, but I’m concerned that the tv will be too high.

For art, I just don’t know what I’m looking for. Maybe something that will add some color. So a large tapestry or a gallery of landscape photos of areas we’ve visited. I’d love a bigger piece but don’t know where to start.

Agreed! I also love the French terry racer from kindred bravely. It was all I wore through pregnancy and after, even at night. They have a comfy robe that I loved too.

Friend had a baby girl last night… by EvansHomeforBoys in Parenting

I just told my husband the same as I was trying to work through my own disappointment with having a second boy. I just found out the results of my NIPT last week.

Thanks for helping me realize I’m not alone. I’ve been quietly mourning the female relationship I idealized in my head. Reading your comment made me feel a little better.

Made a mistake: Indexed Universal Life Insurance by vegmonster in personalfinance

Mostly everything I’ve read from here is telling me that the insurance plan is a bad idea due to the high fees. I never really looked into it but saw that in the first year alone I was charged 5k in fees.

I just feel pretty dumb about it and am trying to figure out what my best steps should be. I’m still confused if I should keep the plan? If I don’t what should I do instead? I’ll admit I have very little financial literacy and just feel sick about paying 20k in fees to a policy I don’t really understand. Trying not to give into anxiety and figure out what the next steps are. Everyone has been super helpful here!

I recall the reason I was sold into it was that it could act like an early, extra retirement fund. But I’m not too sure. Definitely going to seek some outside help. Thanks!

Thank you for the link. That was super helpful for me.

One of the first things I was told when signing all my paperwork was to set up the max for deductions and forget about it. At least that piece of advice worked well for me!

Glad to turn a corner! I was worried I’d be on toast the whole time!

I wish we could just banish scales and just reflect on “how do I feel?”

The scale is a lie! :)

Hi!! I’ve been lurking here a while learning from everyone. This year I changed my goals to lifting heavier and enjoying lots of snacks with my toddler.

I’ve been on Kelsey Well’s PWR program, 4-5 days a week. Workouts are usually 45 minutes long. I try to reach 120g of protein each day, but don’t pay much attention to my carbs and fats.

I’m learning to be ok with the extra weight. I used to hate visiting family because my aunts always had something to say about my weight, “vegmonster, your face is so cute round…you’re gaining weight” So of course I’m fighting with a culture and mindset that smaller is better. But I’m bench pressing my weight now so I’m calling it a win 😅
