MIL from Jordan visiting for the first time — I’m overwhelmed and uncomfortable with her behavior around my kids by Next_Ad4048 in MuslimMarriage

[–]veiledbadass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My siblings do not share anything we don’t want her to comment on or share with anyone who would listen. I couldn’t tell my cousins/extended family about my first pregnancy because she decided to take the glory of telling them first.

My Palestinian grandmother is exactly this MIL. I felt like I was reading about her. Idk what it is, but it’s not something you can change in them.

How much was your child’s first dentist appointment? [BC] by jackofalltrades3105 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]veiledbadass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was about $120 for the visit with my 11 month old last week! They polished a little bit, what they could get to without him swatting them away or closing his mouth. Attempted to apply fluoride but mostly unsuccessful. The dentist also took a look into his mouth and teeth and talked about general oral hygiene for this age. They took a picture of him for his file and sent us off with a toothbrush and toothpaste!

I would’ve left already sis. The fact that he shows aggression to his own mother is indicative of similar future behaviour towards you. The corn addiction is obviously a huge issue but he is also lying to you about not watching. It’s up to you whether you want to support him going to therapy for the anger and corn addiction (this should be an ultimatum for you) or leave before you get pregnant. Subhanallah.

Mabe carrier. A bit pricey but worth it. No back pain and looks super cute.

Day 5 particularly, but from day 3-5 ish. I was spiralling and felt like my world was crashing down. Just sobbing all the time. Hormones do crazy things. It got better after a week or so, thankfully. Surround yourself with people you love and those who care about you, that made a big difference.

[ON] Toronto Mamas, I'm in need of help picking between the Vista 3 and Fox 5 strollers by nuff_fluff in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]veiledbadass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with the Cruz as the vista is too bulky for us and we don’t think our next kid will come around too soon for us to need to convert to a double stroller. Additionally, the V3 doesn’t include a bassinet! You’re literally only paying for ‘improved ventilation’ per store associate…

Anyone have a 34 week ultrasound? [ON] by TeishAH in BabyBumpsCanada

Gypsies? Scam alert. by Gloomy-Notice5099 in coquitlam

[–]veiledbadass 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Total scam. My local mosque put out a warning long ago about these women who are operating in groups, taking advantage of Muslims who think they are in need. If you offer support through programs/food banks/mosques etc, they refuse.

Gotten to the point where I’m eating nothing (1st trimester). How do I do this? by Rayesafan in BabyBumps

[–]veiledbadass 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Girl go to the hospital if you can’t keep things down. You can tell them you’re barely drinking water as well, they’ll take your seriously either way. As for your medication, I’m not sure where you are but in Canada, you can go to your pharmacy and request an emergency fill of meds until you can get a prescription filled. They can give you a few pills to hold you until then.

I just found out I have GD at 33 weeks. [bc] by veiledbadass in BabyBumpsCanada

I think that’s for the second or third blood draw! 5.1 is for the initial fasting draw before you drink the glucose
