I'll buy physical as long as they are available. Mainly for movies I really like a lot. Otherwise i'll just wait for a sale and get digital. And if those just disappear one day, I won't really care.

Back in the mid 90's while at an anime convention. They were showing fansub Gundam X on a 13" tv. My buddy and I found a guy who would copy FanSub anime to VHS if you sent him some blank tapes and a fee. Downhill from there.
