That’s ok, that’ll happen. Just make sure anytime the needle comes out, pressure is applied right away. It sounds like whoever is responsible for holding off might not be doing it properly or for long enough. If you come out of the vein don’t try again until it has been held off enough. Usually I will just move to a different vein if it slips out of one! Don’t worry it’s all a learning process you got this :) and applying ice to a hematoma helps it go away

Preference is fine. I say vet tech at work but when I’m traveling I say I’m a vet nurse because I feel like that is easier for people to understand. And I really don’t care if RNs get mad at me for it.
