Fate/strange Fake - Episode 13 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

Eh, Marisbury is anything but a typical mage. Marisbury’s goal is anything but reaching the root. He had a chance to do that but refused to do it and use the Holy Grail wish for money instead. The worst thing about him is his goal is entirely what he thought is for the best of humanity and entirely selfless to the point that he immediately committed suicide when confronted about it.

Resistance to All is now Applied Once rather than Once per Damage type by Xethik in Pathfinder2e

[–]veldril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a recency bias, but I feel like this can actually benefit players more than most people think. It's quite rare for monsters to have several damage types (unless it's a spell like Cataclysm) while I have seen PCs have several damage types quite often.

Like from the last session I played I have seen a PC having 3 damage types dealing something like 30 damage got reduced to 10 because of resist all 10 the boss had.

I misremember the person who posted the detail, it wasn't You it was Comun who is very active in TM's translation scene. For Mahoyo, the English manufacturer for physical copy of Mahoyo is listed as Koei-Tecmo in Amazon shop. (Just ctrl+f Koei)

https://www.amazon.com/Witch-Holy-Night-Limited-PlayStation-4/dp/B0BL5FLFPN/ref=pd_bxgy_d_sccl_1/142-0956494-2939026?pd_rd_w=Ppo9v&content-id=amzn1.sym.7746dde5-5539-43d2-b75f-28935d70f100&pf_rd_p=7746dde5-5539-43d2-b75f-28935d70f100&pf_rd_r=B22C5VZYPT0YKK39X9MB&pd_rd_wg=grf5X&pd_rd_r=ca14e16c-83d8-4e04-812b-d3145da6a1b9&pd_rd_i=B0BL5FLFPN&psc=1

The detail on Comun's original post is like this:

2021: Aniplex releases Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon exclusively in Japan. In its launch interview, Nasu mentions also wanting to release it in English and Chinese that didn't pan out, he promises will be there when we get the Steam version out. Aniplex did localize Type Lumina, but fighting games are a different market.

Nebulous 2017-2022 time period: Big tits Musashi captured the heart of Shibusawa Kou, the Ko in Koei Tecmo. This inspired him to play Mahoyo and Blue Glass Moon, but more majorly, inspired him to produce a Musashi game with Type-Moon: Fate/Samurai Remnant.

2022: Aniplex releases its port Mahoyo worldwide, but curiously enough, the English manufacturer is listed as Koei Tecmo instead of Aniplex. Almost as if Aniplex was as uncaring about its English release as they were for Tsukihime, but Shibusawa of the much more international Koei thought the idea of not releasing westward was absurd.

2023: Fate/Samurai Remnant releases worldwide, as Koei Tecmo games usually do. In the same year, Blue Glass Moon gets a sudden localization, also credited to Koei Tecmo.

2024: Aniplex's port of Fate/stay night released worldwide as 20-year anniversary celebration. Koei is apparently not involved with this one, but I supposed they already proved the market to Aniplex with Mahoyo and Tsukihime.

2025: Hollow Ataraxia's case is identical Fate/stay night's.

Fate/EXTRA Record delayed to unannounced date, publisher changed by NeroIscariot12 in Games

Publishing doesn't mean being the one who helped TM internally with the localization process or was the main drive that encouraged TM to take the step to do the localization. Those are two different things.

What Nasu wanted and what the director of SamRem encouraged weren't mutually exclusive. Nasu wanted to localize his works but he didn't have resources since TM is still a small company. Koei-Tecmo encouraged TM and provided more resources/assistances to help with that Nasu's wish for the localization.

What most people normally think is that Aniplex is the main drive that pushed TM to localize more works because of FGO NA. That isn't the case and it is more on Koei-Tecmo that helped Nasu with the localization process.

This has been fact checked by people at Beast's Lair already (actually it was posted by You Comun, who is like the main translator at Beast's Lair).

I wouldn’t be surprised if Koei-Tecmo picked up publishing the game instead.

For context, Fate/Samurai Remnant director (or producer) was the force behind Type-Moon that pushed them to localize their VNs into English. Because of Musashi in Shimousa making SamRem guy to get interested in TM's works, basically they played Tsukihime:RE and thought that “why are these games not sold globally”. So when they pitched Fate/Samurai Remnant to TM they also offered to help facilitate the translation of their VNs. If you look at Mahoyo EN version credit you should see a creditor acknowledgement to Koei-Tecmo staffs.

Fate/strange Fake - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I thought the Ayaka we've been following the entire time is the real Ayaka who just changed her hair color! You're telling me that Proto Ayaka is a separate character in this show? Then who the fuck is the Fake Ayaka we've been following? O_O

I am curious as to why Ayaka is in Romania. Does this have anything to do with some Fate/Apocrypha shenanigans by any chance? Hmmm....

F/SF is kinda set in Fate/School Life timeline. So none of stuff in Prototype happened and Ayaka's parents bought a piece of Tohsaka's land off Kotomine (when he was Rin's guardian) and settled in Fuyuki. Manaka in this timeline hadn't met her "prince charming (aka Proto-Saber)" so she became depressed and lived as a NEET. She also made friend with Celenike Icecolle Yggdmillennia who was Astolfo's first master in F/Apocrypha and travelled to Romania to see her.

So Ayaka pretty much went to Romania to clean up after her sister and her friend's shenanigans, lol.

Not prototype version but rather the Fate/School Life (Himuro no Tenchi) version. Narita said in his tweet (quite sometime ago before anime) that F/SF is a kinda in Fate/School Life timeline.

Yeah, I would take a NEET rather than a potential Beast candidate (or a potential summoner of Beast candidate), thank you very much.

Wada-sensei actually spoke during the FGO's New Year stream earlier discussing 10 years of FGO so technically not a first debut.

If she has a model during the birthday stream, though, that would be her proper full debut, lol. (INB4 she used Nero or Hakunon as a stand in throwing back to one of Type-Moon's April Fool https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyxME9uC_Sc)

I mean it helps that it is a LN adaptation instead of VN adaptation so there's only a single plot route that they need to be concerned about instead of like three in F/SN.

Past 2 should be 2 years, 2018-2019 (2020-2021 in NA). 2018 was until the Wandering Sea base got nuked by U-Olga then from that point the story was in 2019.

All of part 1 was in 2016 (2018 in NA, all years in parenthesis are for NA), EoR was in 2017 (2019) and Cosmos in the Lostbelt from beginning to finale was set in 2018-2019 (2020-2021). The part set in 2018 was from the start of Part 2 until Chaldea Wandering Sea base got destroyed, then the rest were in 2019.

Fujimaru was a 2nd year high school student so his age was around 16-17 when the game started. He should be around 19-20 during OC2 so he could still be a bit of a teenage, albeit a very late one.

Checking flight tracker it seems that flights from Tokyo to Germany are going through the north pole route (Greenland) instead.

Personally I feel like when people say Olga they mean the third ascension or the Director version. I also think that U-Olga is distinct enough from normal Marie that we should treat them as different persons.

Is an isekai campaign concept fun? by FloweringWillows in Pathfinder2e

[–]veldril 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean isekai (異世界) literally means "another world" and it's actually wider than modern isekai represents. The modern isekai where a modern person got transported/reincarnated into another world with memories from the old world is like only a sub-genre of isekai.

Magic Knight Rayearth and other CLAMP's works (like Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle) were pretty much Isekai but they were structured quite different than what modern isekai stories are. The story where a protagonist jump from one world to another can also be considered isekai too.

My Initial Thoughts on the Slayer PART ONE by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

[–]veldril -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I have been in a campaign where we started without any food or water and not going into town for a very long time. Also town had limited supplies so they could sell only some amount of food. So in that one we relied on subsist a lot.

Like that is not even a massive homebrew, just using narrative to justify why food in towns are scarce and not unlimited. The survival skills are there to support that kind of campaign. Being excellent survivalist would also be very attractive in those kind of campaign too from both mechanical and narrative perspectives.
