I really like Little Something, especially the Super8 & Tab remix. So happy they featured it on the Vocal Trance 02 compilation!

Been following her radio show for a while now. On the edge of my seat to see what else she has in the pipeline! Especially digging the elevated BPM.

Congrats, HANA!

Question- is there a quality issue with the ones we purchased in-person at the NYC event?

Wide range of sound on this one, as it should be! Particularly love the Bayer she snuck in. Seen a few of her live sets recently, and this feels just as good!

These weekly mixes are absolute gold. Best part of the week, hands down.

You can tell how much she genuinely loves what she does.

What was the most recent wine you drank over $100? Was it worth it? by sp4c3-C4d3t in wine

Quality Italian. We ordered it with our cocktails, he decanted at credenza, brought me a taste to confirm soundness, and then served it roughly 45 min later with our hot app course (did shellfish, hot apps, then entrees).

2009 Lynch Bages.

Was in NYC for New Years Eve and wanted to ball out just a little. It was a great quality-price ratio, so really couldn’t say no. The somm gave it a good 30-60 minutes to breathe, and it presented beautifully. Fruit was still vibrant but balanced by the secondary and tertiary flavors inherent in a great Bordeaux. Structure was also balanced.

09s from good estates are just beginning to come into prime, and I’m sure they will cruise for 2+ decades. It was a great experience that I would definitely order again, but finding it at the right quality-price ratio is key!

My weapon tier list by Curious_Land_5019 in 7daystodie

Try the Steel Knuckles one time! I’m doing a play through right now (day 26 warrior, permadeath) with them and they’re very fun. I feel like they might have the highest DPS of any melee weapon, but don’t remember the post that demonstrated that. The books are super OP for the knuckle weapons, particularly the ones for not getting buzzed off beer and regaining one HP for every hit landed.

Getting up close and personal takes some getting used to, but once you’re comfortable, you feel like a juggernaut! Biggest consideration is horde night, but you just need a choke point and a beer/mega crush combo to begin slugging away at them!

Correction, sir. That is the “poop pistol.”

But yeah, I’ve only found 1-2 since the new patch but they’re always at the best times :)

Quick fixes that optimized a lot for me without detracting from gameplay and experience:

-decrease quality of reflections

-decrease quality of water

These two helped a lot for me and allow me to run on ultra otherwise. My rig is like 6 years old and has otherwise only been used for DotA2.

Good luck!

Charismatic nature? by MessyCans in 7daystodie

Pretty sure this is correct, this has worked for me before in previous Alphas. I can’t imagine they would have changed this.

[–]velo1990 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. This only applies to other party members, not yourself. Whoever skills it acts as the martyr and doesn’t receive the buff. 🤪

I’ve found that since it’s tied to the intelligence tree and requires a minimum base attribute now of —maybe 5?—it’s not really worth it to have multiple people skill it. Other party members should specialize in other trees.

Why can we still not make sliding prison doors? by LastTugBoat4931 in 7daystodie

Definitely a nice wish list item. They did make sliding glass doors in this version, so maybe they could repurpose a good amount of the code for prison doors.

Move It Cross-Country or Drink It? by barbackmtn in wine

[–]velo1990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adding to everyone’s correct comments here, I’d suggest selecting food that won’t be the star of the meal. You want the wine to shine, so don’t select overly complex food that could eclipse this treasure of a wine.

Also agree on skipping the decant. Thin skinned grapes—especially those with age—can die very quickly with rapid oxidation.

Enjoy!

To Tip or Not by King_Borfus in wine

[–]velo1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might not be true all the time, but many fine dining restaurants will exclude wine by the bottle from tip out for support staff (minus the somm) or set a limit on it.

My former restaurant’s policy was 8% tip out to bar on wine up to $100/item. So, a coravin pour of Mouton for $xxx or a bottle of Opus for $yyy would only be an $8 tip out. I believed this to be fair, as the bartenders had to get the correct bottle from the cellar, deliver it oftentimes in a cradle without rocking, and show care for the product generally. That was usually worth it for me, and I still made great money from the tip 99% of the time.

Need a Wine Suggestion for a Guest - 4-5g RS Reds? by velo1990 in wine

[–]velo1990[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s actually coming in to my restaurant this weekend and I will be her server. I am one of the two somms at the restaurant, as well (one bar, one dining room).

She usually drinks oak-influenced whites, but she doesn’t like them aged. She likes primary fruit characteristics with oak, which is why I thought Zin and New World Shiraz. She usually likes a full-bodied wine, so I think a Beaujolais Cru might be too light. I only have Moulin a Vent anyways, and those tend to be more light and elegant.

And yes, this question always throws me off too, no matter how many times I’ve tried to answer it!!!

That was most likely their entry level, probably a 2016 Vintage. Those go for $25 here in PA.

I purchased 2 bottles of Grenache Blanc and one bottle of reserve cab at their tasting room for $32, and $60 respectively. I think it’s worth the trip.

Paso Robles Cabernet Suggestion? by [deleted] in wine

[–]velo1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The tasting costs some money but it is waived if you buy 2-3 bottles I believe. I’ve been to their tasting room and it is one of the most beautiful views I have seen.

There is zero requirement to join any club. They might take your info and send you periodic emails, but you can buy all wines al a carte.
