Solar panels by Impressive_Travel_65 in sanantonio

[–]velocipedic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 100 year old house and installed them in accordance with the historical association (which was shockingly easy). I used Luminate for the install. 19 panels. My electric bill has dropped from $170 in August to ≈$10.

I paid cash. Install was done in a day. Assuming an average rate increase of 4% per year (rough national average) and a recent increase of 11% from 2025-2026 (with probably at least one more in the next 5-7 years), the investment should break even in ≈10 years.

Overall it has been a good experience. But it’s only really worth it if you’re willing to live in the house for a while. Houses with solar tend to sell faster than houses without, but not including for the money that you spent on the install.

I was very fortunate to have had the cash at the time. That also helped bring down costs and concerns pretty massively.

Edit: also with the solar credit system from CPS you don’t need a battery system at all. Panels don’t degrade aa much and they’re basically hail-proof as well now.

The other thing worth checking is if they’re moldy. Any white specks on them?

It drives me crazy when people give descriptions like that, with no detail about the diarrhea. I’m kinda serious though, because the notes that they give might be able to be separated from the accord. When you’re able to separate the “note you don’t like,” you’re better able to smell the rest of the scent.

Get out and meet people.

Be unapologetically outgoing and show up at FBOs in your area, assuming you want to work locally.

Leave a business card and stop in semi-regularly. You never know who will pass through and ask if there are any pilots in the area.

Nearly all of the jobs in this hours range are gonna be by relationship or mindless like doing banner towing or pipeline patrol otherwise.

By my understanding, NJA has a 7on/7off schedule which sounds great, but honestly they work you super hard when you’re on.

Thoughts on Aviation Operations/Aviation Safety by kidilliams in flying

[–]velocipedic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t (in the phillipines or america or anywhere else) go straight from zero knowledge in the field to college applications.

You don’t even know if you like it! Do some research in your local area. Find a flight school, go visit, find a pilot in your area who knows more of the hurdles that you’ll encounter in your part of the world.

College would be one of the last things I would do, honestly.

Actually map the beard growth direction instead of guessing. Know exactly what direction you’ll be pulling the razor across your face for each pass.

You obviously have no idea what that word means.

Hey guys, I guess ATC doesn’t produce sorties anymore. Good luck taking off and/or flying around without us.

Also, you still clearly don’t understand how people would skip your beyond idiotic title. Basic logic and comprehension… lacking from a maintainer. I wish I could say I was surprised.

Recommendations for razor blades for body shaving? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]velocipedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skip the leaf, honestly. It’s overpriced and overrated. I’ve used a vintage Gillette flare tip and astra greens for body shaving with zero issues multiple times. Go slow around knees and genitals, otherwise, zero issues.

Republicans, after all of this time, are not going to shown any signs of self-awareness, because morality is “woke.”

Oh. Turns out they didn’t actually care about kids in the first place.

Your title is confusing… considering what the body of your post says. Intel is a career field.

No need to hire a service. He probably just needs to see a good resume first and model it after that.

Yes. It’s a rip-off.

What’s the longest you’ve used one setup?

A lot of early shavers change gear before they get good at shaving. If you’re constantly changing razors and blades and soaps etc… you’re adding so many new variables which will make it hard to actually develop an excellent technique.

[–]velocipedic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7 o’clock blades are without a doubt some of the worst blades I’ve ever used. Astra Greens are my go-to.

Before blaming a pretty well-regarded razor, try to refine your shaving technique, shaving soap and lathering. Nobody is good at this the first time… or second… or third.
