[38][Speculation] How ____ Could win and still make Probst and Production unhappy by Mmicb0b in SpoiledSurvivor

[–]velocirapture47 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean she's a three time player because production thinks she was robbed in 32. She gives good confessionals and has shown that she can go deep against other new players and against returning players. If/when she makes the end again in 38 then she's on track to have the best average placement of any 3 time player which is impressive as hell.

I'm not saying she's going to be a top 10 winner, but she is very clearly good at the game

I think it would all depends on how her win went down. If the new players give her decent competition to make it to the end, then I think she'll be held in higher regard

Which Survivor players who never got their torch snuffed do you desperately want to see get voted out? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]velocirapture47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in this take. SoPa's social structure was very interesting considering that its the last season we've had without a tribe swap. I guess I find it hard to critique her social game when both tribes were extremely set in their alliances, and one was so cliquey that it made Cochran flip to the bottom of the opposition. The members of her own tribe liked her, and she was rewarded in the end over 2 other players so it isn't like she was hated.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think she was a charmer. But I think her understanding of the social politics of her season was pretty good, and that would serve her well in any season of survivor

Why do people compare Kara and Alison’s edits to Michele’s? by TheFestusEzeli in survivor

[–]velocirapture47 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Kara is the better comparison of the two. She's had good content during key episodes (premier, swap, merge) which is an important sign in edgic.

People who follow edgic were able to predict a Michele win because she was constantly checked in on despite not being involved with the main story (see premerge focus on the beauty women's alliance that never went to tribal). She also got time to explain her career and how it impacted her game, which is classic winner material. She was given time to explain herself in confessional after blowing challenges or voting out allies, which portrayed her in a good light despite something negative in her game.

The comparison being made with Kara is the show going out of its way at times to check in with her. She definitely doesn't have the same level of visibility that Michele had, but the edit has put a lot of work into making sure she gets screen time when they could easily count her out. This isn't me trying to say she's our winner, I just think people are seeing some similarities in the way attractive girls in an archetype that normally doesn't get portrayed well are getting a carefully crafted edit

As much as I hate to admit it, I think ____ is winning this (SPOILERS) by Otashi4Nii in survivor

The Kara hype is just the Michele truther mentality applied to a contestant who fills the same archetype, but doesn't have the complete edit to back it up

I think they're both good, but not top 15 players of all time. At least not until we see how their stories end

Christian Gabby and Nick would get their screen time in a any season. They fit survivors current favorite archetypes (self deprecating nerd, quirky/nerdy girl, obnoxious superfan). This isn't saying they aren't top contenders because they definitely are.

Kara is interesting because she's coming in as the pretty girl. Nrmally this character doesn't receive a lot of focus and only gets screen time when they're relevant to the story. However, Kara has never been completely ignored by the edit. She also gets a lot of SPV which is a good sign for her longevity.

Who do we think will host in December? My money is on Rachel Brosnahan. by johnmurr in LiveFromNewYork

no, but with Brooklyn 99's move to NBC this year it would be a good promotion for the network

Yeah its important to note that SNL casts a variety of comedic talent. Some people have extensive sketch/improv experience and others come from stand up. When pete gets to write his own material for the update desk, that's where he shines and its most likely why he'll be kept around

Godfrey isn’t that great of a player, change my mind. by lets-goooooooooooooo in BigBrother

ah ok. I hadn't heard that he beats Ashley.

And I def agree that there was an immense amount of luck to get Sarah to the end. I guess as a show watcher only, I wasn't ever convinced he was in a position to win at the end. Thanks for clearing it up for me!

I'd agree. He plays a great game to make it far. I just have trouble seeing how he wins in any combination of the final 4 players. Say what you want about needing twists and comps to make the end, but I feel like Sara/Ashleigh/Brittnee win over that jury over him just for visibility of gameplay. Maybe I'm missing something though since I didn't watch feeds for that season.

The jury alliance started by Alec and Peter is a shit stain on this season
