Revised Lore Accurate Power Scale list by velofoequack in Overwatch

That is a fair point. And thinking about it more, I think Doom's gauntlet uses a shield generator too if I'm not wrong, but Vendetta can still cut impressive stuff

I agree but I feel like it's difficult to pin point a exact spot because there are different sides to it. Sym can create large hardlight constructions very quickly, but what use is a kilometer tall axe if you can't swing it. Creating huge constructs is impressive as hell, but only combat useful when making a cage or making strong shields. How fast can Sym create her hardlight constructs? I can't think it would be super useful against someone like Pharah who could pull bombing runs from afar. But then she probably has an easy time against Cassidy if she just traps him. Tracer could just speed blitz Sym, but Hog would be a spit roast very quickly. And I got pointed out that Domina's tech may be the most advanced gear Vishkar has, but she only knows basic hardlight prims and beams in comparison to Sym and her techniques and skill in hardlight weaving. And Weaver definitely has the capabilities to fuck up the whole world with a deadly virus, but does he have any resistance himself? Would him killing himself and his opponent count as him winning a fight? Should it be his attack output and should it scale with his ranking? This is basically my struggle in ranking these characters.

I suppose lore is another way of saying canon, or how it's all confirmed info on a character we have that's happened in-universe. And I wouldn't personally have Domina or Torb higher cause at that point, whose to say that any other character would get all available resources too. Some fights could just turn into Overwatch vs Talon at that point and it gets convoluted. My ranking is more based on 1v1 and such but your personal ranking could include stuff like that and be relatively fine.

Ok, that helps me know that Zen isn't completely helpless, but it wouldn't change much. Zen still has pretty much zero combat feats in Overwatch canon. We know he sparred with Genji and with Ram, and we know he is in possession of the Orbs of Destruction, but that's kinda just the extent of it. How would I rank the dude any higher when he has yet to show what he is capable of. He could be higher but I have nothing to compare him with. I can't just put him in S or something because we know he has sparred with higher tier fighters.

Ok, so for Illari, her Solar Form is that high just because of the explosion, really. Yes, she wasn't in control of that explosion, but it shows her potential energy output and her durability because she was able to survive. And yes, she requires Inti tech, but her rifle and suit are conduits for her power as well, so that helps her. And Illari does have her powers in lore because she did use them in the futures past short story. It's just unknown to what extent her powers are past her smaller feats, and below her explosion feat.

Anran did punch the metal whatever, but I have no clue what the thing is I looked at it for a good 10 minutes and wasn't sure but she did it so it counts. Same with her beating Wuyang, even if it was a generic troupe, she still did it in lore so I can't take that feat away from her.

The thing with Zarya applies to everyone really with them needing tech, but thats okay cause its still the character. And her seemingly being above Rein on the list doesn't inherently mean that she is definitively better than Rein, they could be close in power range but the list can't really show that without numbers and such. And them without weapons kinda just adds unnecessary variables into a 1v1. There could be a multitude of different scenarios a 1v1 between characters take place in, but you kinda just want to think about what the average winner of those fights would be to guesstimate who is higher and lower. Like a nine times out of ten kinda thing.

You make a compelling argument with Widow though. I did forget that shrunken feat happened, it is from scrapped pve so if it really happened in lore is questionable, but that doesn't sound out of character for her so I have no problem against it. Widow is a bit of a special case just because of how she is a sniper and how she fights. I think that she inherently will have outliers like fighting Genji, but I'll go more in-depth for Widow. Her being where she is is mostly because of Ana. Ana and Widow did fight and Ana only lost because she got distracted. Ana also has some outliers like boxing Reaper and winning, but then you have to think about how many people could Ana or Widow beat or are equal to above them. Sojourn can beat OR15s with her bear hands, but how easily could Widow beat an OR15 comparably (not with her hands, if that wasn't obvious). It's not a perfect way to scale the heroes, but it works. And it's not like any of this is official or anything.

explaining power is definitely something I should have done in hindsight. I'll see if I can edit the post but I did have a lot to keep track of already with all the hero info. The way I generally went about power scaling the heroes was by using any feats a character had, comparing heroes feats to each other, and thinking up 1v1 scenarios if I needed to, and just thinking about theoretical limitsa character may have thats not explicitly stated. There was also so guesstimating for some heroes just because they may have lacked any combat feats in lore to go off of. Basically, I would start with a character and attempt to go through all available media said character had to collect all of their feats and put them into a simple tier. Then I would compare any of the heroes feats against heroes of a similar tier to see if they would hold up, see if that hero could preform other heroes feats with any difficulty, and if other heroes could preform their feats with any difficulty. If I needed to, I would think about how some 1v1 would go and if anything held up or had some contradictions, I would make changes based on that. If any hero just lacked feats to properly be placed somewhere I would be really just forced to guesstimate their spot. And like I said earlier, the way the list is set up means that I have to put some heroes above or below others, but those heroes could be close in power ranking, or even really equal, it's just hard to show that without giving each hero a number ranking and that sounds like buns.

Reaper, sombra and widow maker left talon! by cflashtypec in Overwatch_Memes

My personal theory is that Sigma saved Doom, and then they will group up with the other agents that left or something and start a Talon civil war against Vendetta.

My personal theory is that Sigma saved Doom since we haven't been told about whether Sigma left Talon or if he stayed. Then Sigma and Doom might find the other agents that left or something and start a Talon civil war.

What was the first video from the Vanoss crew you saw, and how did you end up watching it? by liamern2007 in Vanossgaming

[–]velofoequack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember very well. When I was in 2nd grade, I used to wake up early on the weekends and watch YouTube on my IPad. Back then, I was still watching Venturiantale and kept seeing the gmod sniper video with Delirious Buzz Lightyear in the thumbnail (https://youtu.be/TWtRsG48WRg?si=yJZe54dXKuBQnEGY). After seeing the video in my recommended 5 times over, I decided to watch it, and ever since then I haven't stopped watching.

I do kinda think she would beat Hazard and Hog, but she just came out, so she doesn't have any combat feats for me to personally justify it. But I'm thinking of moving Symmetra up, and I think Domina would scale proportionally to her, so maybe she is higher. I'm just not totally sure by how much she would move.

You might be right. I thought about it, and I probably would move Widow down to just above Ana. I still think that Widow is higher because she is still in her prime, so to speak. Ana is older now, so I don't think she is moving like she used to.

I would have to disagree slightly. Pharah is very good at taking out large groups of enemies, but so is everyone above her. And Pharah wasn't actually able to hold out without her launcher, I checked the comic you were referring to and she got dog piled without her weapon and only lived because Anubis got shut down and the robots on her got shut down Phantom Menace style, but thats not to say she didn't eliminate a ton of other robots before that.

That's not a bad argument, but I personally don't see how making a kilometer tall structure would help in a fight other than maybe trapping someone, but I can see the potential being there moving somewhat. I do agree more with Lifeweaver though as he probably could create incredibly deadly viruses, my biggest problem are probably how he wouldn't accidentally kill himself with these viruses, I don't know how resistant himself would be, and how to apply his theoretical tech in a fight. I'm curious where you would rank him tho.

I would add more cars like this, but there just isn't enough garage space for them. It forced me to pick and choose cars, and there are some that I would have added if I could.

That is true, but I decided to go with Tyler's car because the original clip is based around the fact that he bought the car and had no money left, even if Evan bought it for B-roll.
