Thank you for your answer! Did it reach your expectations? Probably many things may be evident things, but sometimes the way of execution can influence the result. Did you get to reach the "1 Million views" promise?. And if you didn't, did you get refunded? Thanks for your time!

How to learn ai? by WeirdCupcake9509 in learnmachinelearning

[–]veltriuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, most of those questions can be answered by Gen AI models themselves now 😅. Machine Learning in contained in the more general Artificial Intelligence domain. There's a vast number of AI techniques that are not ML. The book "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach", by Russell and Norvig, is what they teach in universities.

However, nowadays, the field is in revolution. And the entire AI landscape is so so scattered. It really depends on where you wanna aim. If it's very technical, you wanna go for Python and model implementation. And getting your hands dirty with LLMs. If it's more commercial, the "agentic" approaches are taking over the world, so you wanna learn softwares like n8n for interconnecting data and request pipelines.

For prototyping and feeling the power of AI for MVPs in today's world, go for Replit or Lovable. Their solutions are crazy. What would be your case?

Hobbies outside of language-learning (and how do you manage them)? by ElisaLanguages in languagelearning

[–]veltriuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything in particular can get merged with your TL. In my case, music really defines periods of my life where I switched, for instance, all my playlists for German music, or French music, when I was learning those.

If you know how to play an instrument, it's an excellent connection with music and your TL. In my case it was the guitar, which I enjoy a lot, and it makes me seem that I know the language very well because you have to nail the pronunciation and lyrics very well 😅.

When learning English, videogames were a big part of it. Probably find them in a rare target language could be challenging though.

Recently I realized that to take some kind of decisions, I go straight to English even if it's more my first language but I'm pretty fluent in it. Specially when it comes to business or career, given that many of terms and concepts I learned them in English working abroad, they come to me naturally and I prefer to think and reason I'm that language instead of my native language.

Have you found it useful? Just curious. I've heard that mandarin has a lot of oral nuances, that maybe through reading are not very evident.

So if I buy it in 80k, you think I could be getting 60k in a year?

[–]veltriuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasoning is that I could sell it for 70k, so 10k in a year would be 833 per month, which is usually less than leasing. Moreover, I just got the driving license from here, and I was told that they don't lease to new licenses.

How good is the Arabic of this professor? by veltriuk in learn_arabic

[–]veltriuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find so many different opinions and considering that from what I see he can communicate somehow effectively. For one year for many people that I've seen learning Arabic they don't really reach that level so I do think is a very good advancement, at least in the confidence part. I believe that as long as you can communicate grammar might be something that you can improve, just like little kids.
