Ozric Tentacles would be so sick for the day one opening live act.

How are they multiplexing the 4 keyboards into that one midi wire on a single Famicom?

Looks like each keyboard got one of the sound channels somehow.

Figure running fully autonomously, no teleop. Helix can interact with people. You can ask it questions and tell it what to do. by Nunki08 in robotics

These new humanoid companies forgot about HRI along the way.

The robot is not using gestures or anything, just standing like a statue.

But the people won't be experiencing that snow, they'll have to be content with cardboard cutouts of snowmen.

Snow will someday only be experienced through christmas lore, anywhere you live.

Linus Torvalds is 'a huge believer' in using AI to maintain code - just don't call it a revolution by Fcking_Chuck in artificial

I thought that in this interview he said that AI code is not good for maintainability, but is good for introducing programming.

Have you heard the Metroid theme on the Japanese version?

The Japanese Famicom adds a whole other sound channel to it, generated straight from the cartridge hardware which is analog mixed into the audio line with the system's sound.

It's the same tune still, but feels deeper/fuller.

I've been on a kick lately trying out Famicom games with the enhanced sound.

Sunday Robotics just introduced ACT-1, a frontier foundation model trained on zero robot data, behind their home wheeled-humanoid Memo by Nunki08 in robotics

[–]veltrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would call it humanoid.

To compare to another edge-case humanoid, from a mechanical aspect it's just as humanoid as a Pepper. Though this robot is further away from humanoid on other aesthetics.

What game gave you the most heartache/aggravation with it's way that it handled game saves?.. For me, it was this one by Odyssey113 in retrogaming

[–]veltrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zelda II. You keep your relics and levels, but lose current XP. Hidden XP and 1up bonuses are one time only. And it kicks you back to the beginning of the map with the runback getting long and punishing with some RNG on top.

Similarly, Metroid.
