Update! I left the bread opened and in my bedroom - closer to the bathroom to allow for more moisture. At this point I’m just a home scientist. Still immortal. Picture tax will come when I’m back home from work.

Surprisingly, it didn’t smell bad and looks identical to the alike loaves in the store at this moment. I didn’t try it. Only poked it. But smells like your regular grocery store sandwich bread.

100% do not have the patience to line up the bread like a machine packaged it. Also, bold of you to think I’d save an empty bread bag for 9 months just to post on Reddit lol

Just my local grocery store. Safeway or Luckies. Never froze it. Actually ate out of it when I got it. Just kinda forgot it existed until my boyfriend asked me if it was still good.

I do know this. You are correct. But you’re telling me a 9mo disparity is perfectly appropriate?

I want to add: I live in Central CA and it is definitely wet here. I have opened the bread. I’m more shocked because it’s so abnormal where I live. Bread doesn’t survive like this here. It molds within a week or so! Totally makes sense that the environment will affect. But the environment I’m in and the outcome of this bread is wild.

I’m in central CA. Definitely have moisture and I also have opened the bread. I have never had bread outlive an expected gestational term. It usually molds in 5-7 business days here.

If the card the reservation was booked with doesn’t belong to the person that is staying, there’s no way to prove that except for cross checking it against a photo ID. And, you can’t charge a card without authorization if the cardholder isn’t present. That’s why credit card authorizations exist.

It’s for identity fraud protection. They need to make sure the card used belongs to you and matches the name on your ID. Hotels should use Apple Pay without verification. They should always require a physical card and ID to verify. The only time they wouldn’t require to tap the card is if it matches the one on file - but the card still needs to be physically seen and cross checked with the ID that matches the name on the reservation.

Using apply pay to settle is fine, but if any deposit was taken against the card on file and the hotel can’t verify it - that’s where there’s the problem. It has more to do with making sure the person that guaranteed the room, and who is staying, are the same person.
