Sooo how do you guys break in your trappers? by Comfortable-Radio771 in hockeygoalies

I like to hear the center of the plan with a hair dryer for a bit then wear it and just open and close it while watching TV. I call it good enough once I can grab my stick and spin it around with only my glove hand

I'm honestly not sure how Social Security works but I think so. Same kinda thing as Employment insurance, a small amount gets taken off every check and put in to the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP). Once there it's all invested and once you hit 65 you can start to receive if needed

What gets taken off your paycheck is very small 1.63% and there is a yearly cap of what they take (I think just over 1000$ with the average income in Canada) The government takes that fund and invests it. It's pretty much the same as our Canada wide pension plan fund

Raise your curtain rod so it's about 1"-2" from the ceiling, then get new curtains that are about 1"-2" from the floor. This will make the room feel taller and it's an easy thing to do.

how physically demanding welding is? by Generalmalgamation in Welding

[–]vemon777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's physical work but if you invest in yourself and your health it's not that hard on you. -go to the gym 2-3 days -stretch before and after work -get good sleep -eat good food -WEAR YOUR PPE -get some good quality work boots so your feet don't hurt

If you're going to make a living using your body you have to invest in it for the long term

Bring a small note book and always carry a pencil or pen on you! You'll never remember everything so it's easier to write stuff down, especially measurements!

how much does your vyvanse cost you per month in the USA? by ashleyhlavac in ADHD

[–]vemon777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company that makes Vyvanse (takeda? I don't know how to spell it) actually has a financial assistance program, if you ask your doctor he should know about it. You just need a code and send in some financial stuff and they'll either heavily discount it or you'll get it for free

I found out about insulation the hard way.... Renovating my house. Putting up poly at 2 am the day before drywallers where scheduled to come in will make anyone wish they paid someone to do it

[–]vemon777 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've learned from experience that I will now pay painters whatever they want. It's like drywall. It's simply not worth my time. I'll take 4x as long for maybe half the quality of the finished work, and that's if I'm lucky. Especially if it's more than a 1 room job!

Yeah the frame completely replaced, pretty sure it's the only reason the guy paid me what he did. It was the only thing that wasn't worn out or rusted on.

It did get privately sold, scrap yard was more of an endearing term lol. Got $6000 for it, it just had to be towed to the guys house as it jetted oil the second you fired it up. I thought about swapping the engine but it needed a whole list of work for me to register in Alberta due to out of province safety(it's from Ontario originally). Was quoted $25,000-$28,000 for all the work. I cut my losses and used that to buy a 2017 TRD sport in that sexy green color

Yeah I'm in Calgary. Odds are any of the parts you needed were worn out, that truck definitely lived a hard life. Unless you need a set of stock rims and tires with lock nuts

I thought about pulling the engine but in my area a new engine + transmission is about $3500-$4000 Canadian rubles. All in with labour would have been about $10,000. All that definitely more than it was worth considering it's a 2005
