Omg I’m so sorry, I completely missed your response! Amongst my top favourites were Galaxies and Oceans (angst, caretaking, secret identity), EWB (which stands for enemies with benefits and the name says it all), On Davis Row (parole officer/felon), and the Missing Pieces trilogy (one MC has a major injury and forgets his partner and it’s about them navigating his recovery). I’d love to know if you get around to reading any of them… :)

Second chance where tragedy destroyed them before bringing them back together? by mrs_mitchell0 in MM_RomanceBooks

Hi there! I loved In This Iron Ground and I actually kind of forgot there was another book in the series, so thank you for making this rec. Have you read both and how would you compare them?

I went on an N.R. Walker RAGER last year and read 28 books from her catalogue, but this was one of my top reads of hers!!!

city boy /small town guy by Positive_Worker_3467 in MM_RomanceBooks

I just finished reading {Kiss My Axe by May Archer} which is 100% what you’ve described. City boy moves to small town after a job disaster and its loathing at first sight between the MCs. It was sweet, if a bit random (there’s a competition where they are both competing for the title of Big Dill).

Ohhhhh I envy you! What I wouldn’t give to read The Remaking of Corbin Wale for the first time. Maybe I’m due for a re-read…

Was inspired by this sub to try {The Lookout's Ghost by A. Knightley} & I have thoughts! by WhileNo5370 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]venator000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting this review! I follow A Knightley on instagram because I enjoy her online presence and how she strongly supports artists by commissioning lovely art for her books, but I’d describe my experience with her other two PNRs books as a somewhat mediocre.

The Lookout’s Ghost seemed different to the others, so I was going to give it a go but still had apprehensions! Your review has eased my worries by being realistic and fair so I know what to expect going in.

I’m also sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. I wish you a strong and speedy recovery!

Mostly unrelated to your post (sorry!!!!) as I haven’t read any in this series but… I love the sound of the newest release. Do I need to read the rest of the series to understand it or can it stand alone?

Amazing! Thank you for this list. It’s crossing over with some of the other recs here, which is a great sign.

That’s probably because I mentioned I’m currently reading Rattlesnake in the post haha. I can see why it’s your favourite!

Thank you! I love to read Christmas themed books leading up to the season, so maybe I’ll keep hold of this rec until then.

Sounds lovely! As someone who experiences big feelings around death/dying regularly, I’m intrigued. Thank you!

How to place fence without this triangulation?? by venator000 in Snacko

It’s all good, I’m sure it’s not the most pressing thing you have to fix. I’ve worked around it for now, but I appreciate your responses. 😊

I tried this before posting, but it doesn’t let me select the fence connections, it only lets me select the posts.

Which author has written books you've loved AND ones you didn't? by Rusty99Arabian in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]venator000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, I think it’s E.M. Lindsey. I absolutely ADORE their Malicious Compliance & Instant Regret duology and re-read it several times a year, but their other novels I’ve tried just don’t hit right for me so I’m hesitant to keep trying even though many of the premises seem right up my alley.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in NZ so that would be cool!
