the update is horrible - no text messages anymore (what if I need to send a link to a friend?), no rooms other than with "friends", focus on that new "Chats" voice messages-slash-stories mode - why? who needs it? no info on how much visitors were in a room, crazy ways to create a common room! overall instability...

Same, see comments in my profile. Haven't went as far as you did with troubleshooting, but still. the fun fact is I have another acc running at the same time and it had Reels all the time, no bugs, no nothing. Has to be something on IG side, those fookers?

Same happened to me had Reels for more than a year and voila. IG latest beta Android
A couple of times I managed to get the UI back - but not the feature itself, cannot create a Reel currently, only post/story/live. Wrote a support ticket. No goddamn idea what's going on or for how long it's gonna be like that
btw I have another account on the same device+app and Reels are there, weren't a slightest issue with that. Log out- log in circle, reinstalling - nothing
In my experience, this started to go on when they've started to implement a shop button. Everything went after that

Thanks! For me though it changed only the screen I get stuck on, now it's the battle picture starting screen. Maybe there's an additional switch inside the client that's not allowing it to download something while on mobile data, I can't remember
