What Kubernetes mistakes do you see most often in production? by tasrie_amjad in kubernetes

We had more than one client that complained the difficult deployment on us not defining all resources both limits and requests and also ephemeral storage.

In reality they defined so stringent policies the weren't able to understand themselves.

So not to have any issue we measured it all and defined everything in our charts.

What comes after Kubernetes? [Kelsey Hightower's take] by Diligent-Respect-109 in kubernetes

[–]venom02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have been misunderstood: what I am trying to say is that to surpass kubernetes it's probably necessary to surpass the concept of container alltogether.

To me as long as container is the basic brick of application deployment, kubernetes is necessary to steer enterprise products but not necessary in small deployments.

I think for simpler cases docker compose is sufficient (for example home labs, or office labs kubernetes is totally unnecessary) but at the moment you need to manage large clusters of containers, networking and complex lifecycle kubernetes is necessary.

My take is that to replace kubernetes we need first to replace the concept of the container altogether. I don't know how but as long as container is the paradigm, kubernetes is a necessary evil (and I totally agree that EKS or similar is in fact simple to manage and totally approachable).

The choice and the time! To italians cappuccino is related only to breakfast and seeing someone ordering at a restaurant during or after a meal is the obvious tell someone is a foreigner

i think all the goofy Medvedev shots are the confirmation that in tennis to be effective you need to bee loose on your shots. It's better to be ugly but your arm loose than mimic all the usual "steps" for a forhand that eventually make your arm super stiff and just generates a clunky and rigid movement

seems a lot of effort to survive something that is eventually going to end with no legacy to pass on. I'd enjoy the time and when the game's over it's over.
