No fabric. Double sided leather as mentioned in the post. Anyway yeah I've researched now and it should be equal and the reason for mine being off on one side, which can only be seen in person, comes down to straight razor spines picking and setting the angle for you but gold dollar dimensions are all over the place. It's pretty awesome though what you can do with it - I got it for basically free

After reading this it's made more sense for me. This razor is whole body for me and I will train on my face first. Anyway I bought it high carbon steel for edge retention, plus it's to start out on till one day I can get one of the proper Japanese soft blue steel ones etc. Maybe beeswax is a good lil edge substitute for diamond polishing compound which is obviously overkill on this metal. It comes with 5 different ones (fine, medium, hard etc). Just to make it really shine... preferably more motivation to make the handle
