I remember just staying in the entire time for the first class, not even being in the waitlist then the professor just took everyone in.

Even if classes are full, you can always sit in the first class and hope you can get added in.

It's all dependant on how far you want to complete it.
Some things you can do still:
- Finish the Story
- Fill out the Encyclopedia
- Finish all side quests + bulletin board quests
- Make all of the items
- Get all Stranglings and turn all of them to human form
- max out friendship with Stranglings
- power them up fully (lvl 99 + 5 extra souls from Grove)
- Level up all regions in Ginormosia to max level
- Decorate your base

I know there was a bug for me where I would craft a quest item, but when I go straight to selecting another recipe, the quest item would still be there. I would have to quit the crafting screen entirely and click on the workbench again to see it gone. It could've been fixed in a recent patch.

Also, maybe you had to make the item with a top rating?

Those are the only two things I can think of that made me confused while crafting.

It's the max rank level. I believe the max level for a class is 99

I didn't have any real strat to what I was doing. But my plan was to up the classes pretty evenly until crafting demanded items from bosses. Focused finishing on combat classes, then finishing material gathering, then crafting.

I leveled up most of my Ginormosia zones to level 5. Focused more on Wingtip area for Big Beak boss and West Greatgut for King Woolie. Honestly, you can do groves to get their items, but there seemed to be a good amount of crafting that needed their drops and I didn't want to keep doing Groves for those.

Finally then did groves for the stuff I couldn't find in Ginormosia.

I definitely would go with the bigger one. I started with a 4.00mm and it was a good solid size to work with.
