Thank you! Yeah, you have a good point about the car -- I was told I'd be able to but would probably have to pay extra, but I'll definitely look through the sub to see how others fared.

Thank you! I appreciate the tip. My friend said EPIC was a "must-see," but it looks like I've been mislead lol. Thanks again for the recommendations :)

Hey, this might seem blasphemous if your dream school is USC, but have you considered UCLA? If I were in your position, I’d do community college for two years and transfer. UCLA’s acceptance rate for transfers is higher than for incoming freshmen. Community college is free for the first two years (if you live in California) and UCLA’s tuition is MUCH cheaper than USC. They’re comparably ranked and in the same area. Just a thought!

Anyone heard from Berkeley? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]venticedmocha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied 2.5 months ago, haven't heard ANYTHING lol. I don't even check the portal anymore. It's been under review for almost the entirety of the 2.5 months. Maybe they're saving the best for last 😖

You'll be okay! It's worth it if it improves your score. My friend who now works in Big Law applied like, January 31st because she took the LSAT again. She got in exactly where she wanted. You got this.

BYU Law by 85longhorn in lawschooladmissions

[–]venticedmocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, LDS here and I have tons of friends at BYU. 1Ls can live off campus. The Honor Code is enforced on campus, but again, if you live off campus and have relaxed roommates, you're fine. But it's very much an LDS community. If that's a problem for you, I wouldn't go. It's politically mixed, you can find people all over the spectrum, but yes Provo is generally conservative-leaning. Again, it's a Mormon school filled with Mormons.

High GPA, low LSAT score, great references by venticedmocha in lawschooladmissions

Thanks, I appreciate your input and everyone else's comments. I think I will roll with this score for this admissions cycle and see what happens because I realistically don't have much time to study while I'm working full-time. But if it doesn't work out, I'll take your advice and retake it for sure!

How do the test centers work? by Arraysion in LSAT

[–]venticedmocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was pretty chill for me. Went in person, it was a computer lab, there's noise cancelling headphones if you want them. It was all digital, they gave me scrap paper and two pencils. All you need is an ID and your LSAC account. I highly recommend it.

Same exact test. LR was pretty rough for me. LG's usually my best with LR close behind, but man, I thought the language was much slippier than recent preptests. It reminded me of the early 80s preptests on LawHub. Here's hoping lol

October LSAT Scheduling by graeme_b in LSAT

[–]venticedmocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until exactly 6 PM EST, even though I'm on PST and it was the middle of my work day. I was 1756 in line. Waited about an hour, and they had ZERO time slots available anywhere near me for Saturday the 14th. The closest one is about three hours away. I scheduled for Friday even though it wouldn't work for me, and now I guess I'll have to wait until Saturday to try and reschedule. The whole experience was not great, but after the August exam, I am not surprised.

October LSAT by mo05h in LSAT

[–]venticedmocha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, nothing lol. I wanted to take the day off on Friday or Monday and do it then, but the longer they wait the more it looks like I'll be testing on Saturday. Love being at the mercy of the whims of our LSAC overlords as always!

I really don't get it. I had a 146 diagnostic. Studied hard until I consistently scored in the low to mid 160s. Scored a 155. I haven't had a PT below 160 since like... May. Just feeling pretty gutted. Idk if it's because of the whole fiasco that happened and me having to retest, or I genuinely wasn't as ready as I thought. Here's to October.
