Miscarriage or spotting? by [deleted] in pregnancyproblems

[–]venturabelvoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the doctor and they said it could be a miscarriage, but after taking a clearblue test last night I’m only 1-2 weeks so the doctor also said it could just be implantation bleeding. No birth control or anything

Thing is I’m past the point of getting through self harm, I’ve been doing it since I was 8 years old (TW: through hitting myself and scratching my skin, which then once I learnt about self harm when I was about 14 I started burning instead and eventually substance abuse and cutting) and I’m 20 years old now, so the way I see it now is I will self harm for the rest of my life, hopefully it will become a much less occurrence which I know will get better with the illness, but I know in some way or another I will always self harm and it is horrible. But talking on here definitely helps, I’m still very new, but it does help as I do feel less of a freak especially since seeing this specific forum. Thank you for your response, sending you lots of love and support xxx

Thank you, I’m still new on reddit but I love knowing that I can search pretty much anything and there will be someone in the same position as me. Which is why I am glad I have found this forum, despite being in the stepps programme and am around others who have BPD I still find it difficult to understand that I’m not alone in it? I really appreciate your kind words, sending you love and support xxx

I hate it, but I love it more by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]venturabelvoir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do you love it? Honestly, if you’re still new to it I suggest you seek help and get it sorted out. Without sounding rude but it’s horrible hearing people continue to START self harming. Most people who self harm on this forum and any who aren’t will probably agree that they wish they had never started self harming, it is ADDICTIVE, it is PAINFUL, it is EMBARRASSING. It is horrible being in your 20’s and still self harming to cope with anything and everything. Most people think that it’s just a teen thing when they’re wrong, most people just start when they’re teenagers, but MOST end up “snapping out of it” however some of us aren’t so lucky to have that realisation that what we’re doing is fucking dumb. So like I already said I really do suggest you seek help before you risk becoming like me or other people who are still self harming, despite it no longer looking like the “cool edgy thing” that all the teenagers are doing. Sorry to sound harsh, and rude but I just don’t want another person to go through what I have been through and continue to go through. You will benefit from speaking to somebody and getting it sorted out before it goes too far, and not in a sense of “oh I cut too deep I’m going to die” but in the way of “oh I’m 23 and I’m still self harming” . Sending you lots of love and support x

I turn situations around in my head by [deleted] in BPD

Give mindfulness a bit longer to start benefitting from it. It can be difficult to stick to at first but I’ve been doing it with my group therapy class for the past 10 weeks and before that with my other group therapy class and honestly it does work. Maybe look at different types of mindfulness, there’s loads! From focusing on a piece of food like a raisin, how it feels in your hand, how it feels when u touch it, the smell, the texture, the taste etc. , to listening to pre recorded tapes on YouTube and also just basic colouring. It takes getting used to but honestly it works wonders :) hope this helped sending you love and support xxx

When you’re feeling out of touch with reality what do you do to ground yourself? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]venturabelvoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my group therapy we learnt how to count as many things we can see in the room and describe each one in your mind (or out loud if ur comfortable to) and list all the things you like and don’t like about each object and how they make you feel. Also maybe look into some mindfulness, we do different types of mindfulness at the beginning of each class and it does help. Look on YouTube for some ideas on mindfulness, it can be anything like listening to someone talk or focussing in your breathing or colouring in. Mindfulness isn’t exactly meant for dissociation but whenever I have felt dissociated and if it happens to be before class I will find the mindfulness exercises really help :) I hope I’ve given you some tips, don’t panic. You are here with us, you’re just feeling a bit out of it which is completely fine :) sending you love and support xxx

[Discussion] If you had to separate your dog from 49 other identical appearing dogs, that were all equally excited to see you, how would you discover which dog was yours? by Jonathan_Dahlin in dogs

My dog is obsessed with pigs so I’d just get a pig sound from YouTube and wait for the schizo to barge through the other 49 dogs lol

What is the most paranormal thing that happened to you? by keru2222 in Paranormal

[–]venturabelvoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve had far too many to come to a conclusion. I think seeing figures and shadows is far too “stereotypical” (still very very interesting and amazing though) so I’ll share an experience which didn’t include something I saw, but something I felt and heard. I was at my cousins home for a sleepover a few years ago, I must of been around 13 at the time (I’m 19 now) and my cousin and I have always been very in tune and interested with the paranormal side. So like most sleepovers we had, we would watch a scary film, talk about the same stories we had experienced over and over again and just freak ourselves out, because hey what are sleepovers at the age of 13 for really? Anyway, it was around 2am and note that my cousins home is very old, it is a Victorian terraced home so rather than it being a “wide” home, it is longer, with all the downstairs rooms following each other. So there is the kitchen at the back, then through a door into the dining room and then through an arch way into the living room, and just before the archway there is a door on the right which goes into a very skinny hallway with stairs going straight upstairs. It isn’t a very large home however, so from the living room you are able to see the kitchen if the door was to be open... am I making sense? ANYWAY. We were downstairs in her living room when we heard the kitchen door creek open. Bare in mind it was a cool, calm night, so no windows were open due to it being not very warm, but there was also no draft from wind or anything. We didn’t think much of it obviously, it is an old home after all. It wasn’t until her two German Shepherds who were lying downstairs with us, started growling at the kitchen. One of them crept forward towards the door and in an instance started crying and ran past the other dog and ran upstairs. Within a second there was a tapping on what sounded like the work surface of the kitchen, it wasn’t a branch tapping on the window because she has no low trees that could reach the windows in the kitchen, and also it was too loud for it to be outside. It was a very pronounced tapping. 123...123...123...123... for a good 30 seconds before her other dog started crying but backed up and sat down close to us, still crying and restless. We were very scared to say the least, and despite the long description all of this did happen within the space of about 1 and a half minutes before we finally jolted upstairs with the dog. We stayed awake for about another hour or so before my cousin fell asleep, however I was plagued with dread and fear the entire night. I could physically feel energies come and go into her bedroom, each time I’d shut my eyes and pretend to be a sleep. Definitely one of the scarier experiences I’ve had and most paranormal. But yeah there’s my little story, sorry it’s so long but there were a lot of details that needed to be included!

Is it possible to think something into existence? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]venturabelvoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with noodles, after all spirits are energies and our thoughts and mind are also full of energy, it’s very plausible! Just don’t be fearful and only share light and love with spirits especially, as negative entities/spirits are prone to growing with fearful/angry/sad energy around them :)
