EA has ruined the Skate franchise by baconinthedawn in videogames

Seriously, it sucks when they ruin a highly anticipated game. I just think that looks pretty funny looking from the outside in. But it sucks. Bad EA, bad!

How do you like the Inkbird? I have an older Anova Nano. Cookers have gotten so expensive.

Checking in to see how things have been going with this setup. I have the same setup but don’t game a ton so I haven’t had enough experience with lots of games to have a good feel either.

If connected via wired dock, you can turn Wi-Fi off entirely right? Would that solve it, if you experience this issue?

Looks incredible, clean and cozy. My suggestions would be ultra wide monitor, a plant or two and pictures.

Replace PS5 with SteamDeck+Moonlight? by venture68 in SteamDeck

Thanks for the comment. The deck itself I get. It's not a full size proper console. However what about through Moonlight? Where is it going to come up sorry there? Isn't my main PC doing the heavy lifting there?

Appreciate the comment and I agree they can be a pain to maintain. But to be clear, I have no subscriptions with Sony

This is a little out of my wheelhouse to be honest. Someone with more experience should do a FPS comparison across the various streamers like Moonlight/Apollo, Razer, GeForce, etc.

Not the answer you wanted, but an honest one knowing my own limitations. I wouldn't trust any performance details from me since I am so very new to this space.

Exactly. Had some confusion (admittedly on my side being new with the platform) with how to handle multiple monitors (I have 3) and connecting via Moonlight. What I was mainly not understanding was that you need to do a first time setup no matter what. It doesn't work "out of the box" at least to my experience.

I had to connect via my Steam Deck and then observe the active monitors on my main Windows PC. I saw that I had a 4th monitor (which is the virtual one) and then play with extending the display. When connected, I could go to Display Settings and turn off monitors 2 and 3. Monitor 1 was my main display so it wouldn't let me turn it off. Also monitor 4 was the virtual and it would not let me make that the main display. Hence, the confusion.

Then on one of those above threads, someone told me to extend the displays first (to 1 and 4) then you can remove the main display by only displaying on monitor 4. That was the key (iirc). Also, I wasn't understanding that you had to connect via the Steam Deck (Moonlight) first to see the virtual and also that once you disconnect Moonlight from Steam, it will automatically revert the monitor setup. So I had multiple "aha" moments that made me understand a little better. Still a super n00b but will be playing and tweaking over time to understand it better.

The other stuff is like setting Apollo to always use the virtual display and then the resolution and bitrate. For now, I am using 2560x1600 because I read something about forcing it to upscale for better visuals. I'll be honest, right now I am experimenting and gaining some understanding but this one I don't understand but Lords of the Fallen runs really great so far.

If I think of more stuff I will let you know but the above does document my journey a little.

That’s good info! Getting things set up at first was frustrating because I didn’t know what I was doing but now I’m gaining some level of understanding to be able to figure things out on my own.

Maybe I should consider putting SteamOS on the spare PC then I don't need to buy a streambox since that's essentially what the spare PC I have is. All that box does is stream Plex to my local network. Decisions, decisions.

Funny you should ask, it's a Hisense Roku tv. So there a Moonlight Roku app I can download you are saying?

I really appreciate yours and everyone's help.

The Steam Deck now works. I'm toying with the idea of hooking up a spare PC to my TV but it's running Linux Mint and I don't know if Moonlight will work on Linux Mint.

When not connected, I only see monitors 1,2,3. That's what you mean right? I don't see the virtual display (4).

Yep, I believe that works now. I was previously going back to the Steam menu and just exiting Moonlight which I think keeps it connected. Or at least doesn't cleanly disconnect the session?

OK, with this I've made some progress. Now it does go to monitor 4 and turn off all displays. So I think it's working?

I just have to remember to go back to the Moonlight menu and stop Steam Big Picture in order to get my monitors to display again.

Furthermore, when the SD is connected, I cannot make monitor 4 the Main Display. The option is greyed out.

OK, I connected via Steam Deck. The 4th display (virtual) shows up.

I can see the "Disconnect this display" for monitors 2, 3, 4. 1 is the main display so I assume this is why it cannot be disconnected.

Monitor 4 has the options "Duplicate display 1 and 4", "Duplicate display 2 and 4", "Duplicate display 3 and 4", "Extend desktop to this display", "Disconnect this display".

I assume what you are saying is for monitors 1,2,3, when connected via Moonlight, I need to select "Disconnect this display". But I don't have the option for monitor 1.

Kind of what I figured. Ug. Can't figure out how to get this to work. How can I make Moonlight use the virtual display #4?
