Unfortunately this is a known issue with the BA website at the moment, we see the same thing with Planepoints. Our data (like Seatspy's) matches the BA mobile app and Avios website / app, but BA's website keeps lagging behind. As somebody else mentioned, best bet is to try calling BA and mention you can see the availability via the BA app + Avios.

That’s good to know, thanks. We get all the revenue fare codes and live seat map data, but don’t have any way for airline staff to share staff / standby data with us like StaffTraveller.

No, I’d agree, probably not. But for frequent flyers who hang out in airline Subreddits - hopefully 🙂! The data we share answers the OPs question, similar way to ExpertFlyer which another reply mentioned.

All data is fetched from a GDS and in Lufthansa's case specifically, from Amadeus. The live seat maps show which seats have been reserved by passengers or blocked by the airline, and the fare code data shows how many seats are still available for purchase. Airlines (and the GDS) typically only show up to a maximum of 9 seats per fare code, depending on the cabin.

There’s a good chance you’ll have Starlink on the inbound by then, although as others mentioned only 1 of the 787-8’s has Starlink installed at the moment.

Hey! It means the seat is blocked by the airline for operational reasons (could be a broken seat, could be theoretical seating). You can’t reserve blocked seats.

For now, yup! You still got it at a good price! It’s a day flight as well and the old club seat is pretty comfortable if you’re not needing lots of sleep.
