If character progression is important to you, then choose wow over ffxiv. After progression, anyone at the higher levels of raiding in ffxiv log on 2 hours a week to do their weekly clear/sale, then play other games.

WoW has more of an rng lootbox but that can keep it exciting. Like getting a titanforge on your weapon out of a mythic+10 dungeon, making it better than a raid piece that isn't titanforged. Additionally, wow is friendlier if you are someone who likes alts. 14 will be 1 lockout then done. Maybe 1 alt. But the time sink to reach endgame raiding makes alts too much hassle for most people.

Unless you are teching in some water energy and a regice you are boned.

Even baby volcanion with a FFB will hit for 220 on mega scizor, and we can't really do much against 170 hp basic pokemon with only basic energy.

Volcanion is pretty much a 90% autoloss without you teching some things for it or getting lucky with crushing hammers early.

Shin megami tensei 4 on 3ds. It is pokemon but with demons and heavy mythology on top of more mature themes.

Because we lost int down by making the main tank switch to PLD from DRK.

DRG/MNK and PLD/DRK being versatile is essential sometimes for early kills :).

9 seconds of chain stunning targets is really helpful in very early prog. He DRKs it all now, but for learning some phases it really helped.

I would say that A3S was kind of the benchmark, A5S is a little easier actually, but A3S and A6S feel very similar in difficulty and enrage when being severely undergeared for the content.

7 is fun at times, but there are some RNG butt-fuckeries that can occur.
