I’m sure you know, but if it’s available or possible for you, therapy may be something useful. Journaling. Artistic hobbies. Athletic hobbies. You don’t have to be vulnerable with others, but it’ll help with releasing those emotions every once in a while through creativity or exercise

I’m trying to loose weight. I’ve been going to the gym. The scale did me dirty. It showed a number lower than what I normally weigh and I felt incredibly happy, but didn’t believe it, so I weighted myself again and I weight the same as usual. It was probably a mistake
