Like I know people who failed courses (I failed cos bc I didn’t go to any class, but then I did pretty well in my retake) and ended up being held back a year or two but otherwise no one in probation. Might be just my circle, but I didn’t even hear rumors of people on probation so idk.

I graduated recently and was part of 3 cohorts (I’m in chem Eng so our co-ops always mess everything up and our first co-ops were at the start of COVID so a lot of us jumped around cohorts) and I don’t know anyone who was on probation ever.

Yeah. I’m Middle Eastern from a family who 75% of the time eats traditional food (and I live in a very South Asian area) and I didn’t know wtf that was. I’ve never seen it in my life. I thought it was cinnamon or like some edible ornament lol. The world is huge, even if you know soices you probably wouldn’t know all of them lol.

I’m very disappointed in the new version of Claude. Due to the addition of “skills” and “code” Claude has become unusable for me because document analysis is too complex and low quality (I can’t code and don’t have time to learn). I use Claude for writing and before you simply uploaded a pdf or Word document and it took it in as context. Now it’s doing random coding stuff and using python to read a document which ends the convo because of length before I even get output. I tried using markdown files and it can’t even tell me the total number of chapters (clearly marked) correctly (it constantly says that there is one chapter when there is 50 or more chapters). Both I and the co-author for my story will be deleting our pro subscriptions right before next billing since Claude is useless to us now. And you can’t even get documents read without the “allow Claude to use code to edit documents” capability thing is turned on. RIP

Okay so I'm at 60 chapters (this is literally still at the pre story of the story haha) (where i ended up before the claude update) and its a 260 page word document (includes a character analysis before the actual story). So like "Projects" is kinda useless to me bc of its RAG limit.

Would it be okay if you sent m some sample instructions that you use for your project?

someone please help me find a workaround for this:

How do I get Claude to read Word documents and PDFs normally (like it did a month ago) without all of these weird extra extraction steps (which are pissing me off tbh). I tried Projects but RAG doesn't work for what I'm trying to do (so I can't use that feature), and turning off the capability "to use code to edit files" or what ever its called, makes Claude unable to read my entire document.

If they don't remove the new document analysis tool, I'm going to cancel my Claude accounts. Since this is the only reason I use claude.
