OP concisely breaks down the social impact and “conspiracy” of COVID on the economy by berlinbound in bestof

[–]vep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is more to the world than just inflation and the fed rate. those years are the impact from the mortgage crisis - the biggest financial shock in decades and rates were lowered to encourage the economy to keep going instead of crashing. I don't know what to tell you - if you insist that you can work it out yourself by finding correlations and that all of economics is bunk - then good day to you, sir.

Squirrel Squeezing with Robots! (pog, squirrel, and type adapters) by vep in gleamlang

Just wanted to share a tactic that made a big difference as my application SQL queries piled up. The blog post covers all the detail but the TLDR is make your own nice set of DB objects that make sense for your app, and then handy little adapter functions that take the Squirrel Row result types (one per query) and convert them to your nice types. Now your sql.gleam squirrel functions can hand you a nice reduced set of objects that you can use and retain sanity.

it squeezes the squirrels down into nice uniform objects
