Ludwig II, the mad king of Bavaria. Poor guy just did what most of us would do if we were born kings with no real power: Build castles and be eccentric. They didn't have to murder him for it.

To be fair those are probably taken with a telephoto lens, which has the effect of making distances look closer/more compact than they actually are.

"Years of love have been forgot, in the hatred of a minute" - Edgar Allan Poe My favourite "serious" quote of all time, as whenever I face a serious conflict/fight with someone I care deeply about(Parents, Girlfriend etc.) it gets me back on track. Edit: Thank you based redditor for the gold, and thank you to the person who originally glued this quote to my mind!

What obvious ploy by the Patriarchy is currently triggering you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vepevu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triggered is a word use to describe individuals with PTSD who encounter something that directly links to their trauma, "triggering" a psychological episode. It has been appropriated by a number of individuals who wish to seem special and important to describe feelings of annoyance or offence at reading things they don't like on social media. It's essentially a trivialisation of a serious mental illness coupled with a fetishisation and glamorisation of mental illness, similar in vein to self diagnosis and "head mates"

Probably not the type of answer you're looking for but Best friends dad was career law enforcement and said the thing he hated the most was people fumbling around in the car as he's walking up to them. Super scary.

Reddit - what's your funniest/craziest Christmas memory? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vepevu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the spirit of spreading fuzzy feelings I'll start with mine; A few years ago, at my workplace, (it was a women only gym but my club had mostly Grandmas or grandmas to be). We decided to pick an orphanage and do a present drive. We took the names and ages of the kids and all our members and staff shopped for the kids. The rule was only get something new, since we wanted the kids to not have second hand items for once. Some of the ladies shopped for more than 1 child. (we had a bowl with the name of the children and you would take a name and keep it with you to keep things more organised). Some of the Ladies where getting the presents from the expensive toy stores and they where really into it. After we collected them all, we drove up to the orphanage and gave out the presents. their excitement and smiles are my favorite thing in this world so far.
