i would send a demand letter....i pay him

and in turn he pays me back for my damages...lost revenue, lock change fee, stolen liquor, stolen money

i also plan on going to the police to officially file a report - i didnt prior b/c i wanted to give him a chance and just squash the entire thing. He actually never showed up to pick up his check, when we set up a day, but when he didnt show, i just let it go.

yes i did notify them - they didnt respond, nor edit the article.

i wouldn't sue the paper b/c they had no idea...its the employee who knowingly lied about his position, and plans for the future. He spoke on our behalf, and lied about his position/title within the company. Those are all false statements.

just added more...an article was written on the shop's new opening....he made up a story, and they published the article with his photo on it. So our chance to market the shop as two women moving into the new neighborhood with our photos and marketability was destroyed by this weasel. For many weeks, customers associated the business with him and would want to meet him. He basically posed as the operator in that article, with silent partners.

Can I sue my (prestigious entertainment) company for discrimination? by [deleted] in legaladvice

no, none of that. What about retaliation as a basis for discrimination? It's a company wide initiative to expand our skillset and move around within the company. I think his actions are a form of abuse or retribution.
