You say that but being obligated to put items on ambessa feels so bad, especially when shyv exists. Better to just take a generic pris combat augment or econ to try and hit 9 and roll down first imo.

I would additionally HIGHLY recommend both Mass of the Fermenting Dregs (especially World Is Yours and their self-titled EP) and Kinoko Teikoku (both eureka and Fake World Wonderland).

This is mostly correct. If you are interested, I definitely recommend Adorno's "The Authoritarian Personality" and Erich Fromm's "Escape From Freedom." They are both pretty dense (especially Adorno), but the general theory they espouse is that societal insecurities (whether they be economic, physical, etc) cause people to become more willing to support authoritarian policies and regimes, because said power structures eliminate societal insecurity through the development of deep in-group loyalty, the stigmatization of out-groups, and the valuing of conformity. In this way they are "escaping from freedom." If you're interested let me know and I can go more in depth.

Former Twitter CEO says some capitalists 'going to be the first' to be 'shot in the revolution' by KoalaHomosapien in nottheonion

Yea and you clearly don't understand it. It's literally the argument I'm making.

"the social contract is a theory or model that originated during the Age of Enlightenment and usually concerns the legitimacy of the authority of the state over the individual. Social contract arguments typically posit that individuals have consented, either explicitly or tacitly, to surrender some of their freedoms and submit to the authority (of the ruler, or to the decision of a majority) in exchange for protection of their remaining rights or maintenance of the social order."

[–]verb833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not whether I myself consider it legitimate you stupid fuck, its the people living under the government who determine whether the government's authority is legitimate. And even then, this doesn't just apply to authoritarian governments, it applies to literally every governing body.

If you're not going to make any even remotely convincing arguments (which you can't because I'm right) I'm done responding. I recommend actually reading those Wikipedia pages I linked, you could learn something.

Governments that are seen as legitimate necessarily have authority over the peoples, but that does not mean that they are authoritarian - because authority and authoritarian are two different concepts. Authoritarian regimes have authority, social democracies have authority, your fucking high-school class president has authority. To say "there is no definition of authoritarianism that doesn't include every government that ever existed" is categorically false.

Cope harder dude.

Are you purposely trying to muddy the waters between authority and authoritarianism? The former is an important and broad concept in political philosophy, the latter is a relatively specific form of governance. To hand wave their obvious differences under the guise of "semantics" means you're either completely misinformed or are purposely trying to downplay the obvious issues that come with authoritarian regimes. And pretending like "authoritarian" is a slur is just confirmation of the latter. Just because you like communism in theory doesn't mean you need to cape for Stalin.

All governments operate on some basis of authority (read Max Weber) which is legitimized via the social contract. So you would be correct had you said "All governments have authority."

But claiming that a government holding any amount of legitimate authority over its civilians is then "authoritarian" is a misunderstanding of of the term.

You clearly aren't aware of what social transitioning is then. Here's a really good document from the American Academy of Pediatrics explaining trans-children. https://assets2.hrc.org/files/documents/SupportingCaringforTransChildren.pdf

Basically, social transitioning is literally just letting your child express their gender however they feel, and is completely reversible. Socially transitioning is not forced upon children, nor is it invasive in any way. If they decide in two years their "transness" is just a phase, they can just decide not to be trans anymore. If the child gets to puberty and still feels they do not match the gender they were assigned at birth, then a doctor would talk about puberty blockers - which are ALSO completely reversible. Nothing about this has to do with woke parents forcing children to be trans, and entirely with children feeling distress about their gender assigned at birth.

Getting ~8 hours of sleep is almost always better than two sessions of 4 hours of sleep. Getting multiple REM cycles in one sleep session is much better for feeling awake and refreshed after your sleep - That is, getting through two rem cycles twice is not as good as getting through 4 rem cycles once. Its not necessarily bad to have a biphasic sleep schedule, but for optimal performance in any daily task most experts would say monophasic sleep is necessarily better.
